I did not like this book at all. I have listened to all the Highlander series by Moning, Outlander by Gabaldon, and many of the Dark Hunter series by Kenyon. This book is not up to par. I do not think the writer is very good, definitely cannot compare to the other authors. I never liked the hero he was simply a jerk with little or no redeeming qualities. His redemption is too little too late. I did not understand the romance between the main characters, never believed it. The author tried to replace real emotion and love with lust and did a poor job of it. Waste of money. The narrator was horrible as well.

I guess humor like many things is all relative. I thought this book was hilarious, verging on slapstick. I could just imagine the shenanigans in my mind. It is farfetched and silly, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you take everything literally, maybe this isn???t your cup of tea, but if you want escapism and some laughs this is it.

Let me start by saying I am a huge fan of this series, and if you are as well, this book is a must listen/read. The story, as usual, is well written and the narrator does a fabulous job. We get to revisit most of the couples from the previous books, continue to build up the struggle between the Breed and the evil Dragos, and we see a lot of Sterling Chase and his downward spiral; and there my friends is where the disappoint comes into play. Hunter has been one of my fav???s since being introduced and I was so looking forward to his story, and well, in my opinion he was cheated! I???ll bet if I go back and try to add up the time spent on Hunter and Corrine???s love story, it???s only a little over a quarter of the book. The bulk of this book focuses on the Breed back in Boston, Dragos??? shenanigans???, and Sterling Chase, all of it good mind you, but I wanted more of Hunter and Corrine. This book is still a good addition to the series and worth the credit.

I have listened to or read most of this series, and resisted this book because of all the negative reviews. I started the series with book 4, Zarek???s story. I must say I don???t really understand all the negative reviews at all. If you are new to the series this is a good start, as it gives a good background on the Dark Hunters, Appolites, and Daimons. This is a fantasy romance and has some steamy love scenes, I wouldn???t call them soft-core porn as some other???s have suggested, but they are descriptive, so if you are not into that in your romance books, maybe this series is not for you. I totally got the instant connection between Kyrian and Amanda they are soul mate. I???ve read enough romance novels to know, when soul mates meet the connection is instant and unexplained, I don???t need some grand gesture to accept it. I liked the narrator, although my favorite narrators of the series are Fred Berman and Holter Graham, I didn???t mind this narrator at all. This is not my favorite of the series, but I did enjoy this offering and I wish I had not let negative reviews deter me for so long.

This, so far, is my favorite of the Hellions of Halstead Hall series. This can be a standalone novel; the author does a fine job of including the relevant tie-ins from the first two books. I adore Minerva. She is strong, intelligent, feisty, and a perfect match in both wit and passion to Giles. I disagree with another reviewer who said the continuous mention of Minerva???s writing was annoying. Writing is how Minerva copes with the tragic death of her parents, the resulting scandal, and where she allows her true self to show. It???s a significant part of her character and can???t be glossed over. Without her novels, Minerva would be a completely different person. The adventures of Giles and Minerva are sometimes funny and always charming. I was completely committed to seeing Giles and Minerva get their HEA. I think the narrator is very good. Her voices for the different characters are easily discernable, and her reading voice is pleasant enough. Just so you know how my tastes in narrators go for historicals; my favorite is Rosalyn Landor and I absolutely cannot stand Ann Flosnik. If you are a fan of the series this is an excellent addition, if you are just looking for a good historical romance, I think this will fit the bill nicely.

I hated this book. Just sex nothing in between. Why did the protagonists fall in love?...Oh wait, I remember, because they had mind-blowing sex...pffsst! No other reason I could see. No mystery to the shooters identify either, you knew who it was the minute the character was first introduced. A bad version of a bad seventies cop show...with poorly written sex scenes thrown in everywhere.

This is the 3rd book in the series. I actually listened to the first two and then ordered the last two from Amazon and read them, since they were not on Audible at that time. I loved this one so much, I purchased the audio version and listened to it and I love it even more now. Very sexy. The most steamy of the three and Sebastian is one of the best rake turned hero characters ever!

This brings back Sebastian from What Happens in London, Olivia and Harry also make a few appearances. I loved Sebastian in that book and I love him even more in this one. The absolute best character is the Grandmother, Lady Vickers. OMG...laugh out loud funny scenes with her. I laughed so many times with this book, I don't really care that the plot is a little thin. There is no mystery, intrigue, danger, broken hearts, dark secrets, etc., it's just FUN. The dinner scene had me laughing hours afterwards. There are a couple of descriptive loves scenes, tame by my esitmation, along the lines of Lisa Kleypas, Julie Garwood, etc.

I've listened to most of the series on audible. This is by far my favorite of the series. I even like it more than Acheron. There have been a few misses in the series IMHO, but this one is a hit. Val is my favorite Dark Hunter now, surpassing Acheron and Vane. If you are a fan of the series you will love this book. If you are not familiar with the series I would suggest that you start with an earily book, as this book does not give as much of the backstory on the Dark Hunters as some of the other books do. When I started the series, I actually started with book 4, (Zarek's story) not realizing it was a series and skipped around from there, eventually going back and reading the first three books. It's a great series with plenty of offerings to keep you listening happily for a long time.

I've listened to all of the Lords series released so far and I was looking forward to this book. I'm very disappointed. First, I found the book hard to follow. The narrator's voices are hard to distinguish and many times, I found myself wondering which character was talking and if the words were meant to be verbalized or just thoughts in characters head. I don't remember being confused by this in the other books. I also do not like Olivia at all. I don't believe her character. She went from angel to complete slut in the blink of an eye. I wish the author had handled Olivia's sexual awakening a little more innocently, with more exploration and build up to the (pardon my pun) climax. I don't like Aeron and Olivia as a couple, I don't believe in their "love match", which makes the explicit sex scenes kind of gross. I'm not a prude, I like steamy sex scenes, but I always want to believe that the underlying emotion to all the hot throbbing need is true love. I don't believe that where Aeron and Olivia are concerned so it sort of ruined the intimate scenes for me and I found myself fast forwarding to get past them. I'm hoping this book was just a random miss where Showalter is concerned and the next book in the series will be back on the mark. If not I'm afraid this is another series I will have to discontinue.

I loved this book. OMG! I stumbled upon this author and story and thought what the h... I will give it a shot. I'll listen to all the others from this author.
