"Fascinating behind the scenes"
This is a great overview of the work done behind the scenes to record audiobooks by some of the best in the field. Highly enjoyable. Funny and entertaining.
It sounded like a lot of fun.

"Okay performance"
I would give this a qualified recommendation to a friend. I enjoyed the story and was hooked into the mystery, but grew tired of the whole 'scott disliking (supposedly) lisa' part of the book.
I generally like unabridged books because I don't want to miss any part of the author's words, but during this book I started thinking "abridged books have a purpose." Just like adapting a book for stage or a movie, some editing for an audiobook can be a good thing. In short, It could have been shorter and been just as (or more) enjoyable.
Her voice felt a little stiff and stilted. I think the pacing of the editing added to the stiffness.
I could definitely see this as a movie or TV series. Someone who can do a believable southern accent. Not sure who in the current crop of 'stars,' but Matthew McConaughey as Scott, Sandra Bullock as Lisa, though I don't think they're young enough.
"A Victim of His Time"
I would recommend this to a friend because Jimi Hendrix's story was much more complex than I was aware of. i thought this was a credible performance of the book, but the performance felt too dry.
The biography is highly informative. I just didn't know all this detail about Jimi's life.
He read the book, but he didn't bring it alive.
Buster Who?
"OK I get it"
I don't think so.
I would cautiously recommend it. I felt like I got the point of the book fairly quickly but each chapter just seemed to rehash the same premise without new insight.
Not really
No.
I disliked the music used in the audiobook.
"History Comes Alive"
The story of Abraham Lincoln's assassination is not new, but it is fascinating and amazingly dramatic. This performance brings out all those elements. it brings history alive due to the narrator's dramatization and voicing of the various characters.
The story is the story. What makes the difference is the performance.
No I haven't heard his other performances.
I was entranced in the performance of the book, I listened in the car, in the house, in bed, etc. I knew what was going to happen, but I needed to hear this performance of it.
"A trip down memory lane"
The total juxtaposition of listening to the bedtime story in Samuel L. Jackson's voice. I visualized his character from Pulp Fiction trying to get this child to sleep. The whole time I'm was listening I kept thinking . . . "here it comes! Go the f-k to sleep." And died laughing each time.
When the dad wakes up to find the child is actually asleep
No I haven't listened to his other audio performances.

"Love this narrator"
Chasing Fire with Rebecca Lowman's narration is at the top of my favorites list. I am a Nora Roberts fan, but Rebecca gives a wonderful performance, providing distinctive voices and adding another level of enjoyment to the book
I really enjoyed the sub-plot of Lucas and Ella's December love story.
Sometimes actors or narrators bring a voice to a character that's opposed to what's in your head when you read a book. Ms. Lowman's performance felt spot on. Though I really like Roberts' work, she can rerun characters, language and relationship types. But Ms. Lowman made it all fresh and believable.I felt she gave each character distinction. I really enjoyed her performance.
