Kidwella Castle in northern Wales is rumored to be haunted by a deadly ghost - the Grim Widow, who allegedly drowns unsuspecting guests in the castle’s moat. Not long after M. J. and her crew arrive at the castle to film their ghost-hunting cable TV show, Ghoul Getters, two new victims are added to the Widow’s grisly roster. Fear ripples through the castle, especially when it’s discovered that the victims may have had help into their watery graves from the land of the living.

Where does What a Ghoul Wants rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is a silly ,fun series that keeps my interest because it is well written.

What about Eileen Stevens’s performance did you like?

Eileen's performance is excellent. She creates personalities with her voices and you always know who's talking.

    Any additional comments?

The character "Gilly" is still too whiney-Queen for me and I would have dropped him off the castle into the moat 4 stories back. He's an important friend to the main character so he shouldn't be so completely annoying all the time! It takes away from the flow of the stories to have him behaving like an 8 year old every step of the way!

On a well-deserved hiatus from the ghoulish grind of their TV show, Ghoul Getters, psychic medium M. J. Holliday, her boyfriend, Heath, and her best friend, Gilley, are back home in Boston. But there’s no rest for the weary ghost busters. M. J.’s ex comes to her for help - his fiance’s brother Luke seems haunted by a sinister spirit.

What did you love best about The Ghoul Next Door?

This one was different because the author brought in a stronger connection between real life events and murderous hauntings. This made for a creepy-scarey story that I actually had to turn off sometimes!

What did you like best about this story?

I'm glad that the author and the narrator took a lot of the whine out of Gilly.I still wouldn't miss his character if he moved away, but at least he's not quite as obnoxious in this book. He has been written to sound like a 12 year old, self centered child with an eating disorder. He's supposed to be a tech wiz- kid who happens to be Gay. I'm missing the link between those 2 character types.

What about Eileen Stevens’s performance did you like?

The performance is great as usual. She does the voices very well(even if I hate Gilly's whine)

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    Just spooky!

    Any additional comments?

Keep going...it's lots of fun, especially with Gilly on ritalin,he's much easier to deal with!

Would you try another book from Jim Bernheimer and/or Christine Padovan?

Perhaps the writer ,NEVER the reader.

Would you be willing to try another book from Jim Bernheimer? Why or why not?

The story had some merit, but couldn't finish because her voices were like listening to sesame street puppets(only worse)!

Did Rider: Spirals of Destiny: Book 1 inspire you to do anything?

    stop listening

    Any additional comments?

I have never given a negative review before ,but this was really awful!

The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night.

This book had challenging moments for me as I have spent hours with Harry Potter audio books and this one is also read by the VERY talented Jim Dale. Once I quit hearing Hermione and Dumbledore's voice,I got into the dark but completely mesmerizing story. The author's visual descriptions are so vivid that you are soon a visitor at the "Night Circus" I hope there's a sequell as I want to visit again!

M.J., her partner Gilley, and their client, the wealthy, de-lish Dr. Steven Sable, are at his family's lodge, where his grandfather allegedly jumped to his death from the roof-although Sable says it was foul play. But the patriarch's isn't the only ghost around. The place is lousy with souls, all with something to get off their ghoulish chests. Now M.J. will have to quell the clamor-and listen for a voice with the answers...

I have now read all of the series but the last and have really enjoyed them. The reader does a great job with all the voices;especially Dr Delicious's slang mix-ups! The only thing that I don't like is how MJ's partner Gilly is so whiny, self absorbed , and obviously in the wrong business. That's the writer though not the reader. If you can get past wanting to slap Gilly to make him shut up...it's a really fun series!

In the fifth installment of this bestselling series, the twins of prophesy have been divided, and the end is finally beginning.
With Scatty, Joan of Arc, Saint Germain, Palamedes, and Shakespeare all in Danu Talis, Sophie is on her own with the ever-weakening Nicholas and Perenelle Flamel. She must depend on Niten to help her find an immortal to teach her Earth Magic. The surprise is that she will find her teacher in the most ordinary of places.

VERY imaginative and fun series! To those who think he's milking a "cash cow" I say DON"T BUY IT! I personally am glad it's not over yet. It's not about getting to the end,it's the journey! So if you're not enjoying the ride get off the bus! For the rest who get immersed in the characters and creepy monsters, you will like this one too!
