For the most part I like this audio book. The story is great and the narration is great. However, some "brilliant person" decided to put music behind the first part of every chapter. I absolutely HATE this part of the thing. It's distracting and completely unnecessary. While I'm driving and listening to the book, the music adds nothing and makes it harder to concentrate on listening while paying attention to traffic.
I'd give this a better rating if not for the idiotic addition of pointless music.
Another great Dickens book with an excellent narrator. One might say there are almost too many characters but it was still very enjoyable.
A great story and very well read. Excellent
Loved the book and Will Patton's characterizations
Fun and entertaining
I enjoyed this quite a bit.
Enjoyed this one during my commute.
I read this series quite some time ago and decided to listen to the books during my commute. Great story and great narration.
I read this series quite some time ago and decided to listen to it on audio book. I loved the first book but, when I tried to listen to this one, the narration was so incredibly bad that I wasn't even able to get through the first part of it. This guy "might" be good enough to read want ads from the paper out loud but, when it comes to reading a book aloud, he is HORRIBLE.
The narrator was ok. The book was ok but I often wanted to slap the idiots in the story. What annoyingly obtuse people. The main character vacillates between flashes of brilliant insight and flat out failing to see the obvious or being seemingly unaware of things that are common knowledge.
I don't normally complain about the length of a book, in fact, I tend to get the longer titles. I never get abridged titles. However, this one could have been a good 4 hours shorter without leaving out anything of value.
I read this book when it first came out and thought I'd try the audio version to help with my commute. Great story and excellent narration.
