Struggling to protect the legacy of his Traveler father, Gabriel faces troubling new questions and relentless threats. His brother Michael, now firmly allied with the enemy, pursues his ambition to wrest power from Nathan Boone, the calculating leader of the Brethren. And Maya, the Harlequin warrior pledged to protect Gabriel at all costs, is forced to make a choice that will change her life forever.

Too much lecture on big brother too little entertainment. Particular tieing was the long monologue broadcast from Gabriel. I sure skipped that. It kept me going for a while but at the end I skipped a couple hours.

Danny North is the first Gate Mage to be born on Earth in nearly 2,000 years, or at least the first to survive and claim his power, for families of Westil in exile on Earth have a treaty that requires the death of any suspected Gate Mage. The wars between the families had been terrible until at last they realized it was their own survival in question.

To be honest this last installment did not have a lot of action going for it. There were countless long philosophic dialogues which bordered on monologue. If I ever hear the word "Ba and Ka" again I will loose it. After long boring passages I was suddenly surprised that it was the end of the book.

Here, a brilliant new approach to combating terrorism has just been born. Its codename: The Athena Project.

It does not feel the same to me when "Amazonian Women" do the dirty work Scot Harvath used to do. Some of the torture was already hard to swallow under Scot but when women do it does create another level of sour taste to me. That aspect aside I always like the mystic or science element and the story behind the story in Brad Thors books and I read many of them.

I like and read all the grey man novels. This one has too many long dragging out fight scenes and simply not enough surprises or a good "make you guessing" plot. I casually read ballistic while working out but not with great passion or interest.

In that first volume, we were introduced to the remarkable world of Roshar, a world both alien and magical, where gigantic hurricane-like storms scour the surface every few days and life has adapted accordingly. Roshar is shared by humans and the enigmatic, humanoid Parshendi, with whom they are at war.

I loved the book and was captivated all the way till the end. I can’t wait till the next book. I hope this author is not like Orson Scott Card which punches out 2 books fast and then takes forever to bring out the conclusion. From Orson Scott Card I have two series which are not completed now for a long time. Even from Brandon Sanderson I am waiting on Steal heart second book. So the question remains why sci-fi writers always start other series before completing one.

It's a story tailor-made for the nightly news: Dylan Meserve and Michaela Brand, young lovers and fellow acting students, vanish on the way home from a rehearsal. Three days later, the two of them are found in the remote mountains of Malibu, battered and terrified after a harrowing ordeal at the hands of a sadistic abductor.

I hardly made it to the 3rd part of the first audio book skipping ahead and then back tracking because I missed something. Made it to the end which was terrible. The mystery can be told in 2 hours but the author waste time in developing and redeveloping characters. Too long maybe unabridged is better. The jumping in time between characters is confusing and needed editing.
