  • Bitter Blood: Morganville Vampires, Book 13

    • UNABRIDGED (13 hrs and 11 mins)
    • By Rachel Caine
    • Narrated By Angela Dawe
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Thanks to the eradication of the draug, the vampires of Morganville have been freed of their usual constraints. With the vampires indulging their every whim, the town's human population is determined to hold onto their lives by taking up arms. But college student Claire Danvers isn't taking sides, considering she has ties to both humans and vampires. To make matters worse, a television show comes to Morganville looking for ghosts, just as vampire and human politics collide.

Angie B says: "Good book ... Bad narrator"
    "Angela Dawe painful"
What made the experience of listening to Bitter Blood the most enjoyable?

The actual story is great! I love all the Morganville books!

Would you be willing to try another one of Angela Dawe’s performances?

No way. She makes listening to the book absolutely painful. She slaughtered Myrnins prior interesting and playful voice. Actually every character she portrays is made to seem boring and somewhat annoying. I said I would try her one more time after the last book. Never again!

  • The Sound and the Echoes

    • UNABRIDGED (14 hrs and 53 mins)
    • By Dew Pellucid
    • Narrated By David Radtke
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

The Sound and the Echoes is a high-concept, fantasy adventure for middle grade and young adult listeners. Imagine that everyone around you has a mirror image living somewhere else. Your world is like a sound, which produced that other world of echoes. And in this land men are governed by a terrible law-no Echo is allowed to live after his Sound dies. One Sound especially must die. The Prince's Sound. The Fate Sealers and Fortune Tellers will make sure of that!

    "Beyond Imaginative!"

Thank you Lisa for gifting this book to me! The story takes place in an extraordinarily imaginative world. A wonderful book for all kids and kids at heart!

  • Blood Song: Blood Singer, Book 1

    • UNABRIDGED (9 hrs and 48 mins)
    • By Cat Adams
    • Narrated By Arika Escalona
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Bodyguard Celia Graves has definitely accepted her share of weird assignments, both human and supernatural. But her newest job takes the cake. Guarding a prince from terrorists and religious fundamentalists is hard enough, but it seems like the entire supernatural world is after this guy too. When she is betrayed by those she is employed to help, and everything goes horribly wrong, Celia wakes to find herself transformed. Neither human nor vampire, Celia has become an abomination-something that should not exist-and now both human and supernatural alike want her dead.

Julie says: "Good start to a series!"
    "Wanted to love it!"

Oh how I wanted to love this book! I was in search of a series such as this with many books to savor, when I came upon this series by Cat Adams. I fell in love with the cover and was hoping that the inside was as great as the outside! Unfortunately I was extremely bored through most of it. Many times I kept having to rewind and listen again as my mind would wander. The most frustrating part is that the storyline has amazing potential! Possibly most of my problem with this book was the reader. I love her voice and I do believe that it matches the character perfectly....however she used NO INFLECTION! In many parts where there should have been a great deal of excitement in her voice never failed to remain the same. Very mundane! If I was the author of this book I would have told her..."come on girl! Wake up and get excited about my book!"
I kept up hope until the very last page. Who knows...maybe one day I'll decide to give the second book a chance. Hopefully the reader will come to life in future books!
    Thanks for reading my opinion!

  • My Life as a White Trash Zombie

    • UNABRIDGED (8 hrs and 44 mins)
    • By Diana Rowland
    • Narrated By Allison McLemore
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Teenage delinquent Angel Crawford lives with her redneck father in the swamps of southern Louisiana. She's a high school dropout, addicted to drugs and alcohol, and has a police record a mile long. But when she's made into a zombie after a car crash, her addictions disappear, except for her all-consuming need to stay "alive".

Marvin says: "New diet trend, become a zombie!"
    ""Brain Food!""

First of all Iet me say that I am NOT a fan of zombie books! I'm a die hard vamp girl and a fan of other paranormal species...but not zombies. However, I kept seeing this book and it intrigued me. The cover definately got my attention :) ,and the reviews were good so I decided to give it a try. I was SO ENTERTAINED! I found myself laughing out loud many times...just as if I were listening to a Molly Harper Book! The main character is so endearing and witty! Allison McLemore did a stellar job of portraying this kick butt southern zombie girl! I'm a southern girl myself so maybe I'm a little biased. I will definately be buying the next book in the fact I'm listening to book no.2 while writing this review!

  • Delirium

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 47 mins)
    • By Lauren Oliver
    • Narrated By Sarah Drew

"Ninety-five days, and then I'll be safe. I wonder whether the procedure will hurt. I want to get it over with. It's hard to be patient. It's hard not to be afraid while I'm still uncured, though so far the deliria hasn't touched me yet. Still, I worry. They say that in the old days, love drove people to madness. The deadliest of all deadly things: It kills you both when you have it and when you don't."

    Joyce E McBride says: "Wonderful"
    "DOUBLE FIND!!!"

I am so glad I ran across this book! YesterdayI was looking for something to listen to until Twice Tempted came out today. I stumbled across this series and talked to a friend to see if she had read it yet. She had not read it, but it WAS in her wish list. SO we decided to start at the same time. I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN! By the third chapter I was hooked and couldnt sleep. I finished it this morning and have already bought the second audiobook.
I was HIGHLY impressed by the narrator, Sarah Drew. She showed the type of deep connection to this book that is rare to find. She really put her all into it. She is one of those narrators that can take a good book and make it fantastic! But in this case both writer AND narrator were spot on.
    Your turn Lis!
