Mr. Cahill is very good providing depth, and insight into our past. I was not disappointed by this audio version of his text. The narration makes the breath of information tolerable especially to those that believe they hate history. This book could serve as a valued primer for anyone intersted in studying this phase of Western and European development. Amazing the influence of art on developing society and it's use as a tool of political influence. Also explains why certain classes are required for freshmen entering college. A good listen for the academic in or near you.
In 2005 I had a stroke. That event left me with loss of vision in the left hemisphere and a few cognitive concerns. This audio book while not the Stroke Survivors handbook provided me nourishing insights to the brain's structure and core intelligence. Both well written and read the information goes beyond our perception of intelligent robots and the quest for artificial intelligent (AI) software. Plus, you don't have to be a neuro jock or programmer to appreciate the principles conveyed. I'm reasonably certain anyone with an interest of the Scarecrow will find this book helpful and delightful. Enjoy the book. It provides many moments that will cause you to ponder and say uh hah.
This is a very good audio production. As such it reveals the talent of both author and narrator near the beginning of their collaborative efforts. An extra bonus is how the story sets in place rich character interaction. These bonds will be cause for years of enjoyment on the part of the listener. I agree with a friend that one part was very graphic. But it is the sort that any romantic heart would long for and enjoy. Death however is less poetic. The authors descriptions are swift, the turns are sharp and the story will have your questioning your analysis. In the hands of this skilled narrator you will love Detective Dallas, see the face of Feny, and want the head of the killer on a poke. Either that or you’ll discover you are as zoned as a chemihead, If you have a heart this early JD Robb book will touch it. Else consider this your annual psych eval.
What an understatement! All authors should have such a talented narrator reading thier work. Especially if thier writing is this good.
This tantalizing story is a nice change from the authors standard sociopathic male brutalizing women. Even so, characters are developed, bodies drop, and the fast pace excitement is enough to keep you on edge minute after minute. A rich who done it where our girl gets bumped, bruised while bringing about justice Dallas style. Very exciting! An audio adventure with twist and turns.
Madr me wish there was an Eve Dallas in my town. If not the woman then maybe a poster to place inside my locker.
Very well narrated. Reads well and moves fast. Like all fansI was courious about Superman's earthly beginnings. This provided answers.
New planet, identity, job and no training plan. What could go wrong? true and new fans will not be disappointed.
This is a very good story. That suffers from poor narration. It's better told or read by someone with more voice talent. Overtime that distracted from the book.
That in itself is enough for her fans. Additionally this audio production with its well balanced and effective use of minor audio effects and talented narration pulls listeners in brings you center stage. The characters take form and come to life in your mind as they interact. Sure Dallas is the lead but each member of her cast will remind you of someone. Warning: This story is not for the faint of heart. Women will get this one. But all listeners will walk away cheering fist held high proclaiming this Lt. as their cop.
It is as you will find by listening to this interesting book more powerful than you may have ever considered. Read in such away to hold the attention of even those with a fear of math. I should know. Listening to this book deepened my appreciation and gave way to moment of "I didn't know that".
So good, So very good. It was an eye opening into the truth in advertising and the power of fear. Riveting fast moving storyline which causes one to wonder about the truth. Very well narrated which helps the listener digest important information. We have lost a great writer with the passing of this author. However, this book could serve as a tool for helping us assess our own fears and those the use them to lead us around by the nose.
I enjoy audiobooks. But, this, just didn't work for me. The narration was ok but the story was blah. Didn't move enough to thrill or keep my interest. In fact Instead of wonder who done it and why I found myself grieving for the narrator how had to read this lost my daddy, think he's entrapped metaphysically blah, blah blah blah blah blah. Oh, and did I mention I have problems. Hate to be crude but I give this 2 pukes and a hurl.
Wow! What an excellent read/listen. Rapid moving story with exciting characters. Complete with road rage traffic outbursts. A strong mix of who done it and privacy issues. Nice twist and turns with a unpredicted outcome. So sweet, so innocent in death.
