After a mission goes wrong, Aric Savage is taken prisoner. Half-dead and despairing, he makes a stunning discovery: His Pack-mate Micah Chase, who was reported dead, is a fellow captive. When the Alpha team goes into full-rescue mode, accompanying them is an absolute stunner with sable hair - and a spine of solid steel.... LAPD officer and Psy Dreamwalker Rowan Chase has one priority: her brother Micah's recovery. Still, she can't help but be drawn to Aric, the ruggedly handsome wolf shifter who pleasures her as no man ever has - however fleeting their affair is destined to be.

    Any additional comments?

I came across the Alpha Pack Series looking for something similar to Black Dagger Brotherhood or The Midnight Breed Series (loved both). If you like either of these, Alpha Pack might be worth checking out. J.D. Tyler has been a pleasant surprise. I really enjoy her writing style and the story moves along at a rapid pace. I love the relationships between the pack members as well as their bondmates. And who doesn't love wereshifters? In Savage Awakening, Aric seems arrogant and abrasive but that's not who he really is. He blames himself for an attack on his pack and, in a sad turn of events, is captured and tortured, and feels as though his pack has turned their backs on him. Rowan is a LAPD officer searching for her missing brother (who is actually one of the pack members) when she finds Aric being held at the same facility. There is an instant attraction between the two and the sparks start to fly. As always, Kirsten Potter does a great job with narration. I typically prefer male narrators (such as Jim Frangione or Phil Gigante) but Kirsten does such a good job that I simply get lost in the story. She has become one of my favorite narrators.

Nathan had never bared his soul to any woman, but he was soon utterly beguiled and exasperated by Sara’s sweet, defiant ways. Sara (the main female character) is a total twit. Someone should have thrown her overboard. I couldn't finish the book.

It was whispered all through London society that he was a murderer, that he'd spent his youth in an asylum and was not to be trusted - especially with a lady. Any woman caught in his presence was immediately ruined. Yet Beth found herself inexorably drawn to the Scottish lord whose hint of a brogue wrapped around her like silk and whose touch could draw her into a world of ecstasy.

I'm typically into paranormal romances (I'm a huge fan of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by JR Ward) but this time I was looking for something a little different. One night I was shopping a sale at Audible and came across the first book of this series. I figured it would be a nice diversion from what I normally read so I decided to give it a shot. What a pleasant surprise! I absolutely loved it! Jennifer Ashley - you are an awesome writer! The story is passionate, seductive, funny at times and is guaranteed to pull at your heartstrings. This book (as well as the entire series) is well written, entertaining and (for lack of a better word) it’s just special.

Lord Ian Mackenzie's childhood was heartbreaking. He is extremely intelligent with a touch of something akin to Autism. He witnessed his mother's death at his father's hand and is placed in an institution for the insane to keep him quiet. You can imagine the horrors he faced in such a place. His older brother took him away from the institution has soon as he was able but a certain amount of damage had already been done. Ian is little odd, a little introverted, a little broken and he’s not ruled by the social dictates of the time or his status. At the same time, he is bold, direct and oh so sexy! From the moment he meets Beth Ackerly, he knows that he wants her and nothing will stop him from having her. Beth seems to understand Ian in a way that no one else does and a bond begins to form (and sparks begin to fly). The characters are colorful and the relationships between the four brothers are heartwarming in a rough, Scottish sort of way. Last but not least, Angela Dawe does a fantastic narration! Buy this book, buy the entire series, you will not be disappointed!
