"Excellent Adventure"
This is a wonderful Paul Theroux adventure, if you ever had a desire to go cross country in Africa this is the book for you. It is on par with the other recorded books of Paul's other/railway adventures (which seem to not be available recorded any more), he describes the locations, foods, smells, such that you feel that you are there with him.
"Classic Anthony Bourdain"
A fun listen, though sometimes I think he was just on a rant rather than story telling. I enjoy Mr. Bourdain's stories when he gets into them and there are some gems in this book. If you liked Kitchen Confidential, this is a decent follow-up.
"An Interesting History of Humans"
I enjoyed this book, focused on beverages (coffee, tea, beer, etc.) and world history. A pleasant listen while learning a new thing or two is always fun.
"Another Great Adventure with Phryne!"
This series is wonderful and a fun listen. I love Phryne's adventures. Kerry Greenwood is an excellent author and Stephanie Daniel's voice superb. Don't worry if you start with this book, all is explained, so you won't be lost wondering who is who.
"Excellent Book"
I put this book at the top of my motivational/business listening. I have listened to it twice now and as an owner of a small main street business I find it inspiring. True things have changed in the economy since Derek's experiences yet many things haven't.
There is good thinking material for anyone in his comments about growth and planning. Plan for the what ifs and know that any business plan goes out the window with the first customer.
Derek Sivers does an excellent job reading his book. His voice is easily heard in the car while driving.
"Another great listen"
I am enjoying the Maisie Dobbs series. This book is well written and up to par with the others. My only complaint is that the book down loaded in two parts that were not cohesive. The first part I am not sure started at the beginning of the book, but it did jump around and about half way through the story began to repeat. The second part seemed to be fine though it ended with nearly four hours left to go, which left me confused. On listening the story began to repeat, picking up in the middle of a chapter. This jumping around jumbled the story line a bit, but the book was still a good listen.
"Love It!"
This is such a wonderful and funny book. Carol's sense of humor is, as always, most excellent. I laughed my way through the book. A great listen!
