It was very drawn out and quite boring. I really don't like how they threw in a relationship for Zander at the end. I had a very hard time getting through this book. It was nothing like the first one. I still would like to know who the "enemy" is.
Kept the story similar to the first book. This one had many sections that were way too convient and hard to believe. There were also questions that went unanswered. Overall, I am very disappointed.
The girl did great but Kye(not sure of the spelling) was pretty awful. By the end his voice was very irritating.
Zander's new girl. I believe her name is Layla. It felt like she was just added in at the end so everyone could have a happy ending.
This book manages to be drawn out and rushed at the same time. I can't even explain how that is possible.
After listening to Cinder I thought this would be a good book, but no way. I had a hard time getting through it. There just wasn't enough to the story. I didnt feel connected to any of the characters. It's definitely not worth the money or credit.
This book just didn't keep my interest and was all over the place. Just when I started getting into it, things switched to a completely different story. It was my least favorite of the series.
This book had some potential but the ending was pretty lame. It seemed suddenly rushed. I hoped for more.
It was a little boring compared to the other two, but it was okay. I hoped for more, though.
I'm only half way through and don't know if I'm going to bother to finish it, and I never leave a book unfinished. It's just that bad. The main character Juliette has become beyond irritating. She doesn't even seem like the same character from the first book. She was a little annoying in the second book, but nothing like in this one. She is completely full of herself. The book is very immature, especially with they way the L word is thrown around. The dialogue sounds like something you would hear in a middle school. The "love triangle" has completely taken over the story. What a waste:(
Zoey is not the character I thought she was. She has become very annoying. She overreacts over everything. I no longer follow her logic. This was my least favorite book so far:(
I was very disappointed in this read. The "love story" felt like it was just throw in there with little thought. It is also pretty unbelievable that the main character went hotel by hotel along the strip and checked the entire place. Those hotels are HUGE! I did not find the main character very likable either. There are much better books in this genre.
I can't wait for more! Another great one! I really like Julie Kagawa.
This book has been in my wish list for a long time. After reading all the reviews I finally went ahead and bought it. The beginning sucked me in, but then it slowed down A LOT and I began to lose interest. I kept on listening hoping for things to pick back up. I can't say they ever did. That wasn't the most disappointing part though. By the end of the book I was completely annoyed by the main character. It was like her entire personality changed and I couldn't buy into this "new" character. It just didn't make sense to me. Because of that, I am not sure if I will read the next one. I might if I can get it from the library, but I wouldn't spend money on it.
1. The main character is extremely frustrating. Her actions and logic make no sense most of the time. There are certain times where I wanted to like her and then she did or said something else ridiculous.
2. There is no explanation as to why society has turn into these violent heartless monsters. I can buy that people can do bad things in certain circumstances, but what little information that was given about the circumstances did not justify how people were acting.
3. I enjoy some romance in dystopian novels, as much as the next person. However, I didn't see much of a connection between the two characters. There were a lot of questions that I wanted to hear being asked. Instead the two sat in silence or bickered. There was no communication and that was frustrating. The tension between them could've been resolved by a conversation.
I really wanted to like this book, and it had a lot of potential. I was just left feeling frustrated and with too many unanswered questions. The narrator was great though!
