Katinss. Our heroine overcomes so many trials and keeps her integrity.
Great voice that makes each character come alive.
Her many mental battles as well as physical. Wanting an alliance with another member, and not afraid to risk trust.
Narrators were great. They kept me listening. Story was not my favorite. Too sci-fi for me. Don't like alternative realities.
An amazing adventure indeed. The most beautifully written book I have read in a long time. The narration wonderful for audio. Tugs at your heart all the time. Timeless themes of love, sacrifice, loss and overcoming are beautifully woven into this tale of two cousins.
This is one of those life changing books to slap you in the face to say WAKE UP!
From the beginning, this book is clear it is about nutrition and not "a diet book". The use of many four lettered words tells it like it is. I was inspired by the authors.
She conveys the passion and conviction of the author's Vegan Lifestyle; to read, question, and challenge the our American food production and farming practices
This book was FAR Left of any healthy eating/diet/exercise I have ever heard. This is a great bookend to "Supersize Me". The animal slaughter practices chapter are worse than any horror story. I applaud the authors for their gutsy conviction for readers to get informed about nutrition and where our food comes from.
LOVED IT! Going to change many eating habits of my own.
Yes! Such great characters and the changing times. Let's hear it for women making a life for themselves.
The mother. Such a "Jewish Mother" in all the negative ways. Critical, worried, nagging.
Mama. The Yiddish was so sarcastic and negative. She played her brilliantly.
Oy Ve! Mother and daughters collide.
Every emotion found in relationships is so well told.
Always! The performances always enhances the story.
Don't compare it to anything. It is brilliant all by itself. Obviously there are many books that share the story of slavery but this is a wonderful one. Sisters, slavery, survival.
When the sisters don't back down to the male abolitionists, "Get your foot off my neck."
Handful. She deserves to be taken to dinner.
Sue Monk Kidd lights a fire and we fly away!
The themes of sex, greed and power, expertly told.
Learning to live like Indians.
When he finally gets away from "women's work" and has the kids teach him hunting.
I wouldn't take any of them out to dinner. They are all way too larger than life to take to dinner.
This was one of the most realistic stories of the ol' West. Super!
Movie Magic Again.
Rob Reiner. He was the sweetest director, a sincere and caring person, who's perfect vision of The Princess Bride was lovingly made. Thank you Rob.
They are all my favorite.
The last kiss.
Such a great behind the scenes look at one of my all time favorite movies.
The characters that come across the trail.
It is not like Wyld, but it is about hiking one of the US's big trails, and the people who do that.
Can't compare. FIrst listen to him. Very nice.
An adventure in meeting hikers on the Appalachian Trail.
Really enjoyed his caring concern with hikers and their safety and the mistakes hikers make.
Yes, one more chance.
Because I got so bored with it and didn't finish it, I wished she was able to convince me of wanting to know her different characters so that I cared about any of them. They were all very two dimensional.
She was fine.
Bored. I didn't care enough about the characters to keep reading.
It took a little too long to decide if he was a jerk or not. Once we finally met Rosie, I thought there was hope. It did improve much after that.
Loved it, of course!
New York at the baseball game.
