The historical information provided and that the scene and places in the book were based on facts; having visited Key West I could picture the story clearly in my mind. It added another level of enjoyment.
Kept me guessing - enjoyed the characters enough to read the second in the series.
average vocal performance of various characters
This book is a good Beach Read/Listen - easy to follow and enjoy.
A story that was less detailed - constant lengthy use of unnecessary details about every act, scene, room, etc.
Possibly - her performance was well done - difficult to follow due to the accent which she performs well.
I could not bear to finish the book. I started listening on 3 different times; trying to follow the story and appreciate the book. The book had high ratings - but it dragged on with details about senseless things such as cracking an egg and stirring ingredients in a bowl. It took 5 minutes to describe a simple act that had nothing to do with the progress of the story. Completely disappointed. I have never NOT FINISHED a book in my life until this one.
Near the top
Two narrator's/performers - really enhanced the story line.
Both were excellent!
Intrigue and conflicting emotions for the characters - changing emotions toward each one at different points throughout the book.
The book was very well done - both the writing and the performance. It kept me guessing until the end.
The author was factual about Key West and used locations and characteristics that were authentic to Key West. It made the story seem real.
It kept my interest - not on the edge.
I have never listed to Kathleen Early's performances - but she was excellent. She created very clear characters that sounded real. She performed both male and female parts in a way that was easy to listen to and not distracting.
Very intense to listen to, but very well done. No idea where the ending was going. Kept me on the edge, and eager to keep on listening.
