Maybe it was the Shenanigans gift certificate that put her over the edge. When children's librarian and self-professed nice girl Jane Jameson is fired by her beastly boss and handed $25 in potato skins instead of a severance check, she goes on a bender that's sure to become Half Moon Hollow legend. On her way home, she's mistaken for a deer, shot, and left for dead.

If you love the Sookie Stackhouse series (at least the beginning) but wished that Sookie had been the vampire. Well this book grants your wish. With razor sharp wit and humor Molly Harper introduces us to Jane Jameson who has all the southern charm of Sooke Stackhouse.

I really enjoyed this book, I found myself posting some of the funniest comments and quotes on my facebook to make my friends laugh. I think I have at least two more people now reading the series after that.

If you are looking for a fun, humorous, vampire adventure with a splash of romance novel (just a sprinkling for flavor), this is your book.

  • The Crown Tower: The Riyria Chronicles, Book 1

Michael J. Sullivan garnered critical raves and a massive readership for his Riyria Revelations series. The first book in his highly anticipated Riyria Chronicles series of prequels, The Crown Tower brings together warrior Hadrian Blackwater with thieving assassin Royce Melborn. The two form a less-than-friendly pairing, but the quest before them has a rare prize indeed, and if they can breach the supposedly impregnable walls of the Crown Tower, their names will be legend.

If you could sum up The Crown Tower in three words, what would they be?

    How they met

What other book might you compare The Crown Tower to and why?

All three of the Riyria Revelation books as they feature Royce and Hadrian.

Which character – as performed by Tim Reynolds – was your favorite?

It's a coin toss between Royce and Hadrian in the last hour of the book.. Both were so well done!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

If I were dead, I doubt there would be geese.

    Any additional comments?

Such a fantastic prequel.. I'm not normally a fan of prequels, but Michael J. Sullivan knows how to tell a unique story while staying within the guides he set in the other books.

  • A Bite to Remember: Argeneau Vampires, Book 5

Rule #1: Never get involved with someone who won't be there for you when the sun comes up. Once bitten, twice shy, and sexy PI Jackie Morrisey wasn't going there again. Vincent Argeneau may be the hottest guy she's ever met, living or dead, but she's here to stop a killer from turning this vampire into dust, not to jump into bed with him.

"Who let Victoria McGee read another book???!??!"
    Overall

If you didn't listen to book 1 "A Quick Bite" Victoria McGee the narrator for this book also did that book. And like this book it was HORRIBLE.

I have listened to all of the books in the series so far and BY FAR this is worst Narrator of them. Actually, as a commuter I listen to A LOT of books and this narrator is the worst I have ever heard. --

The story is good, though a little heavy on the sex scenes, but that can be over looked (after all it is paranormal romance right?). I highly recommend the book but go into it knowing that the narrator reads it like she just ran a marathon and is totally out of breath. --

I pray that she doesn't read any more of this series or I may switch to buying them and reading them when I can, seriously I can't take her for another book.

In the realm of Alera, where people bond with the furies - elementals of earth, air, fire, water, and metal - 15-year-old Tavi struggles with his lack of furycrafting. But when his homeland erupts in chaos - when rebels war with loyalists and furies clash with furies - Tavi's simple courage will turn the tides of war.

    Overall

The audiobook was clearly remastered into chapters which is awesome, but the horns trumpeting were clearly the end of the CD previously.. Please Audible, Go back and take that out..the book is awesome but one more than one occasion it interrupts in the middle of a sentence!

Love Kate Reading reading and Jim Butcher has a unique writing style. 5+ for that but minuses for the horrid conversion from CD.
