A few interesting parts interspersed between Gary's lists of his favorite '80s songs, and awkward conversations with high school buddies. I'm a fan of the show, but this book tested my loyalty.

Had I known this was an episodic book I would not have bought it. However even half-hour long episodic TV shows each contain an ending. This book does NOT have an ending. None of the story lines are completed. After twelve hours of minutia for a build up, the book ends suddenly with no satisfying completion! I guess even after investing twelve hours of my time in listening to the poorly performed voices of the narrator, I'll never know how things ended because I would never waste another book credit to read the sequel. I can honestly say that this is the first book I've purchased through Audible that has convinced me that they need to establish some form of refund process.

If you thought that the TV show "The A Team" was engrossing and believable, you will love this book. Best suited for "Weekend Warriors" and firearm chatroom flamers. I was unable to suspend any measure of disbelief and enjoy this absurd story. The authors whoring of barely masked real life characters, such as Carlos Hathcock in particular, is a stain on the memory of a man who is no longer alive to defend his honor. Oh, and by the way Mr. Hunter, technical accuracy is no substitute for creative story telling.

I think this is the best of the Virgil Flowers books so far. There is some violence yes, but the level pales in comparison to any recent video game. Good character development and engaging story line.

In this episode of the "Prey" novel series. Lucas Davenport plays a lesser role than I've become accustomed to. The author instead brings in a supporting cast to flesh out the story. Including Virgil Flowers and other characters from earlier books. I found this story entertaining and satisfying. Perhaps I suppose, because I'm a big Sandford fan and I've grown fond of the storyline. However I get the feeling that it's getting a bit tired, and running on momentum instead of forging ahead. Still a worthwhile read though!
