When Dr. Tom Greenbaum faces that question after successfully discovering the secret to time travel, he knows the time, place, and event he will witness: the death and failed resurrection of Jesus Christ. Dr. David Goodman, Tom's colleague and closest friend follows Tom into the past, attempting to avert a time-space catastrophe, but forces beyond their control toss them into a dangerous end game.

What made the experience of listening to The Didymus Contingency the most enjoyable?

I loved it! The story envelopes the past and future and history in a whole new light. It is done with cleaver imagination and emotion.

What other book might you compare The Didymus Contingency to and why?

Ann Rice writes a similar book on the story of Jesus as a boy. It reminded me of that same type of quality writing.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed, cried, was on the edge of my seat to hear the story unfold.

    Any additional comments?

Great book! I would highly recommend it!

  • Salt Sugar Fat: How the Food Giants Hooked Us

Every year, the average American eats 33 pounds of cheese (triple what we ate in 1970) and 70 pounds of sugar (about 22 teaspoons a day). We ingest 8,500 milligrams of salt a day, double the recommended amount, and almost none of that comes from the shakers on our table. It comes from processed food. It’s no wonder, then, that one in three adults, and one in five kids, is clinically obese.

Michael says: "This is all too real, and YOU are the victim."

Where does Salt Sugar Fat rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This rates at of the top for informational books. I had always suspected we as a public have been groomed to improve profits for the industrial food industry. This is an enlightening journey into the understanding of how the industry works. It gives us as a community the insight to make heathier choices and realize that we as consumers have been unkowingly falling into their increasing profit tactics for years.

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

Scott Brick is an excellant narrator. He brings the book to life with his inflections and emotion in reading this critical information. If I were to try to read this book in print, it would not have the same impact. Scott takes a complicated subject and brings understanding and clarity so we can make choices for ourselves.

Yes, humans and canines are different species, but current research provides fascinating, irrefutable evidence that what we share with our dogs is greater than how we differ. As behaviorist and zoologist Dr. Patricia McConnell tells us in this remarkable new book about emotions in dogs and in people, more and more scientists accept the premise that dogs have rich emotional lives, exhibiting a wide range of feelings, including fear, anger, surprise, sadness, and love.

If you could sum up For the Love of a Dog in three words, what would they be?

    Informative, fun and insightful!

What did you like best about this story?

I am very glad I listened to this book! It gave me information and understanding to have a better relationship with my dog and how dogs relate to people. I will be listening to this again to keep the valuable information fresh in my mind. A quality book!

Have you listened to any of Ellen Archer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! If life gave me the opportunity to listen all of it one sitting, this would be a book that would be worth the time. Unfortunately, life has demands on my time. I was greatful I had this book when opportunities in my schedule were avaiable.

    Any additional comments?

Good book with lots of good information.

In My Stroke of Insight, Taylor shares her unique perspective on the brain and its capacity for recovery, and the sense of omniscient understanding she gained from this unusual and inspiring voyage out of the abyss of a wounded brain. It would take eight years for Taylor to heal completely. Because of her knowledge of how the brain works, her respect for the cells composing her human form, and most of all an amazing mother, Taylor completely repaired her mind and recalibrated her understanding of the world.

What did you love best about My Stroke of Insight?

I will be listening to this audio book again! The insight and hope of the experiences and full recovery from a stroke are beyond amazing! I wish I had known of this book when my father had his stroke. It would have given me a blueprint to give more love, understanding and positive direction for helping him recover. Professional caregivers and the medical community at large would greatly benefit in their understanding of what a stoke survivor experiences. Professionals would also gain insight on how to support those survivors. A must read!
