"Great Autobiography!!!"
I really enjoyed listening to this book. Many people write good books - but not many can read them out loud as well. Craig Ferguson can do both!! It brought new insight to his personality and life that I was not aware of before . . . and has made me want to read more and see more of his offerings. Great job!!! Highly recommend it!!!
"Painful Listening Experience . . ."
Not with Mr. Sudduth doing the narration. His mispronunciation of several different words and inconsistency with the same word made for an excruciating listening experience . . . like someone hitting the wrong key on the piano . . . or scraping their nails on a chalk board. The word weapon pronounced as wheapon was so annoying that I almost just stopped listening altogether . . . perhaps I should just go back to eBook copies of Deaver's works. I listen to a lot of audiobooks and this is the first time that this has occurred.
Found someone else to do the narration.
Anyone else . . .
The story line was okay . . . wish I could erase the memory of listening . . . but I'm afraid that it was ruined even if I read a print copy . . . it would be replaying in my head.
"Another Great Episode about Vish Puri"
Love this series!!
Getting more info about some of the other characters.
He does a great job with different voices for each character . . . hopefully he'll also read for all future episodes.
Here's another new P.I. - this time from India.
Been waiting for the release of this . . . after listening to the previous two books . . . I was very pleased with this latest addition and I'm looking forward to a long relationship with these characters.
"Aaahhhhhhh, What to do with the Body????"
Very enlightening and humorous at times . . .
Too many to list just one.
Never listened to this reader before - but she did a great job . . will look for her again.
Aaahhhhhhh, What to do with the Body????
I finally got around to listening to this . . . enlightening and funny at times . . . if I ever planned to write a mystery story . . . this book would provide great background material.
"A Great Listen"
So good I listened to it straight through to the end.
Her works remind me of the BBC series Midsomer Murders that I own.
She did a great job with developing different voices for different characters . . . was easy to listen to. Would look forward to listening to other works she has narrated.
First introduced to V. McDermid through the PBS series WIRE IN THE BLOOD that I liked so much I wanted to read more from her. Since then I have listened and downloaded most of her books and am enjoying the prospect of reading all of them. She tells a great story . . .
"Unable to download . . ."
Gee I would have liked to listen to this but once it got into my library . . . the download link was not active . . . so I couldn't download or listen to it :(
"Another Winner . ."
I've always loved Fannie Flagg . . . she is a master storyteller. Not many authors are able to narrate their own books . . . but she does a fantastic job!!! The characters she creates are so representative of so many people we've known and loved or hated throughout life. I'm so glad I bought the audio version . . . it's like remembering when you were small and your parents read you a story . . .
"Another Good Read . . . or Good Listen"
I've read all of the offerings from Preston & Child (the writing team) and now I'm trying to catch up with the offerings they had done as individuals. I found this book to be very interesting and combines the reality of meta data collection and the many mal uses of that information alluded to by other authors and woven into this thriller. I thought it was very good and really wouldn't have changed anything. Great book!!
"A True Dose of Reality . . ."
I purchased this book and had it sitting on my iPod to listen to . . but decided after watching the Academy Awards on Sunday to listen to it before I rented and watched the movie. And I was not disappointed . . although the language is raw . . the feeling is real. And the further you get into the story . . . you realize it's not just about being black, poor or the result of a system of well-fare that frequently instead of helping people . . only makes them more dependent and promotes fraud. It also reminds us of a society that preys on females . . . and that abuse crosses all color barriers. And it's the story of one girl's ability to overcome all of these barriers . . . and develop into a whole person. A truly inspirational story . . . now I'm looking forward to watching the movie based on it as well.
