PLOT: New Bio of the last years of the Kennedy Family in the White House~ VERY GOOD~
SECRETS of Camelot: the beautiful Kennedy Family ...with two adorable children. This new bio is very well researched. The hidden side of the beautiful Kennedy Family have a few new shadows show up. This shows a new "side to Jackie" from her very protective side to her children to her PUTTING up with the philandering husband the President of the USA Jack. JFK is also is portrayed as an over sexed USER of women. "he learned" at the knees of the Master (Joe Kennedy) his cheating father according to this bio. This is a very good book and audiobook. it moves along very well and captures your attention from the first. The reader has a very nice voice and inflection. I really liked it and found new info on the Kennedys. I have listened to several other Kennedy Bios and liked this better than the rest. the "Dr. Feelgood" INFO is very detailed and how both the Kennedys but especially JFK used amphetamines and steroids and pain killers "to boost their energy" from the demands of the White House. I give this 5 out of 5 for the new look inside the glamorous Kennedy White House that is revealing and interesting. GOOD book.
PLOT: follow up to Pride and Prejudice .....not bad....
Christmas at Pemberley~ and Lizzie is so happy with her marriage but feels the pressure of not producing an heir. Soon the gathering of all the Bennett's and Darcy's under one roof has a child seen with Darcy has everyone speculating. Could this be a illegitimate child by a "French woman" Elizabeth has some one "confide" in her? This is a good story but worth listing too about once. This Lizzie is not spunky or lively. I give it 3 stars.

I give it 4 STARS and even though it is very gory I was glued to the very end. VERY good reader too.

Leslie Howard is Sir Percy aka the Scarlet Pimpernel who played him the movie. Olivia DeHavilland is Margarite complete with French accent. Very good for a fast one hour show and included are the EVER fun LUX flakes

This is a play on the human spirit and the morals of each come into focus on the lifeboat. PLOT: Aldrich Ames the ultimate spy~ selling secrets to the KGB.
Aldrich Ames worked for the CIA~ having a failed first marriage and then marries a very well educated Columbian Rosario. Rosario likes nice things and spends at an alarming amount of money. When Rick (ALDLRICH) Ames is even more seriously in debt he takes a walk over to the Russian Embassy and offers to "sell secrets". As his information is proved "very helpful" and more operatives spying for the CIA 'disappear'.... Ames is given even more money a grand total of $2.7 MILLION dollars by the Russians. Dozens of people died and many ended up in prison. Ames continued to spy until the day he was arrested. He was mainly captured due to his very extravagant spending. When you pay $500,000 CASH for a house someone has to find out. LOL.....Jeanne Vertefelle and Sandy Grimes had worked for the CIA for years. They working hard even through the good old boy network only allowed women for typing. As they are recruited for a special team to ferret WHY so many CIA spies are "disappearing".... ruling out wire taps and communication breaches they only have a "mole" as the last possibility. Ames who felt he deserved a extravagant foreign car HE drove to work every day....finally gets noticed.... when combing Ame's bank statements do they get the final PROOF Ames has a new hobby.....selling secrets....to the KGB. This starts with the history of Jeanne and Sandy the authors... and their climb up the CIA ladder. then they are chosen to find the MOLE. Ames who is labeled a narcissist can pass a lie detector test has no feelings of guilt what so ever about his double dealing. The LOOK into the capture of a SPY and the workings of the CIA is both interesting and very entertaining. This book is excellent and give us the most accurate look at Ames by his own co workers. I give it 5 out of 5.
PLOT: DETAILS about the greatest spy network ever.
1930s and the Cambridge spies are being recruited one by one. Philby, Blunt, MacClean, and Guy Burgess. All decide to spy for Communist Russia. Because of education and the "good old boy" network the upper class education gets the Cambridge Spies into the best jobs in the foreign office and at the outbreak of World War 2. Harold "KIM" Philby has access and the means to simply remove TOP SECRET files and copy them at home and return them the next day. Dozens of under cover operatives are sold out and killed as a result of his treachery. When Burgess and MacClean end up escaping to Russia Philby is soon under suspicion. Because of the lack of PROOF they soon have to clear his name once he is accused of spying. The CIA and Angleton "trusted" Philby simply because he was so very charismatic. a heavy drinker and womanizer he still had people defend him no matter what. After he was "let go" from MI 6 he is in Africa doing the ONLY job he was allowed to have....reporting middle east events to a newspaper. One final 'confrontation" with by MI6 has Philby give a 'partial confession' and instead of putting him under arrest or at least having him under surveillance Philby simply hops a freighter and ends up in Russia. Philby had convinced himself he was a major player in the spy game and at least would be recognized as a KBG Officer. But his "golden cage" in Russia does not live up to his expectations. The KGB believe he is a triple agent planted by England to spy on Russia. This leads to yet more alcoholism and even an attempted suicide. He is followed and under constantly under the ever watchful eye of the KGB. and he is NOT allowed access to any kind of Russian Secrets. To pass the time he married a Russian woman and wrote books. He dies and was buried with full military honor in Moscow. This is a very good audiobook. It gives us a first hand look at the PERSONALITY of Philby who was both likeable and was able to pass on secrets that resulted in hundreds of people killed. Philby who never felt any kind of remorse OR responsibility or what happened as a result of his spying. The focus on this one is PHILBY. Maybe the greatest spy of all who was "allowed" to continue working and full access even when he was under suspicion. 4 STARS for story, very good reader and very interesting story.
PLOT: Carlie takes on Mercenary Carson.....BEST Palmer in along time.
Innocent Carlie has her share of BAD memories and secrets. She finds herself a victim and has a photographic memory of some BADDIES who were involved in a crime. Carson is a handsome Lakota Sioux who fends off his feelings for Carlie. His own "past'.. keeps him from having a future with Carlie. When Carlie is kidnapped Carson is a key in her recovery. Just about all our favorite Jacobville Characters are part of this story. But ADDED fun is newcomer.... Rourke the South African born...uncover HUNK is my favorite of this book.....and future HERO...of a future Palmer books I am so very sure....bring him on... This is one of the best Palmer books in a long time. The hero is not such a woman hater as the past ones. the ONLY thing I would like to see is more spunk the heroines we loved in EARLY Palmer books. They maked us smile and laugh....Carlie is sweet and likeable and we enjoy her but her photographic memory was not used as I hoped in this book is my only disappointment. the Plot is solid and moves along well I give this 4 stars for Plot, reader and better than average Palmer book.
PLOT: the real stories about Nazi Spies in America.
the Germans prepared for WAR with the United States well before it was declared. in the late 1930s Nazi Germany was busy recruiting American Germans to spy for them. They used a combo of blackmail, national loyalty to the "father land" (GERMANY) and bribery. People in aircraft factories and munitions plants forked over the plans for many guns and even the legendary Norden Bomb Sight.... This is their story. William G. Sebold was born in Germany became a naturalized American Citizen. He became the means to capture many Nazis in America. We also see the growth of the FBI through Hoover. This is interesting and though a bit overly long it is full of the many "groups" of Spies located all over the USA. It tells HOW the Nazis recruited and gathered information. Much of this info was used to BASE the movies Confessions of a Nazi Spy and The House on 92nd Street. the ONLY thing that is a total shame is Sebold was not helped by the FBI after he was done spying and died in poverty and having mental illness with it. all very sad. Still a good way to view the many spies and how they functioned inside the USA before and during World War 2. 3 STARS...
PLOT: a new face and someone is out to kill Lauren.
Lauren had surgery and a new face. She is trying to get on with her life and is busy with her new business and remodeling a farmhouse. Along comes Matt who was best friends with her deceased brother. When circumstances have Lauren thinking someone is out to frighten or even kill her from a dog attack and garage door mishap all this adds up to someone wanting her dead. She turns to Matt for both a body guard and romance. the reality is someone wants her dead or is it the woman she NOW looks like? This is a nice little early romance by Delinsky. Holds the interest. GREAT reader one of the BEST by Mediascape the reader.....Coleen Marlo needs to be used more often. I give it 4 stars.....
