An American classic, Ben-Hur is both a vivid historical epic and the powerful story of one man's spiritual journey from slavery to vengeance to redemption. Born the son of a Jewish nobleman, Ben-Hur is condemned to the galleys for life for accidentally dislodging a piece of tile that falls on the Roman procurator. He is betrayed by his best friend, manages to escape his imprisonment, and gains revenge and glory before the cheering multitudes in the chariot races at the Roman circus in Antioch.

I was held spell bound by the narration and the story.I have actually listened twice and enjoyed it even more the second time. The slight technical glitches did not affect my enjoyment of the story. Much better than the movie!

Enchanted by a powerful spell, Highland laird Drustan MacKeltar slumbered for nearly five centuries hidden deep in a cave, until an unlikely savior awakened him. The enticing lass who dressed and spoke like no woman he'd ever known was from his distant future, where crumbled ruins were all that remained of his vanished world.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who would enjoy romance that has a happy ending and a generous helping of humor!

What other book might you compare Kiss of the Highlander to and why?

This book reminds me of A Knight in Shinning Armour by Jude Deveraux

Have you listened to any of Phil Gigante’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

All the books in this series. He is so good that I forget it is one person reading all the parts.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I found myself laughing out loud throughout the book. The sad parts made me hold my breath just waiting to find out what would happen next. the story is filled with a plethora of emotions.

    Any additional comments?

I have listened to books 1 - 4 of the series and this is, by far my, favorite! It is a deliciously perfect blend of love, romance, humor, mystery and sensuality. Loved the story and the performance. There was something to like about all the characters, and I even felt really sorry for the "villain"! This story deserves a series all of its own!

Though his kisses fired her blood, shadowed secrets from Alec's past threatened Jamie's happiness. She brazenly resisted him - until one rapturous moment quelled their clash of wills.

Loved the stroy, loved the narration. I could have done without the sex scenes but I found that I could simply fast forward through them without reducing how much I enjoyed the story. It was a great mixtue of romance, drama, suspence and comedy! I definately recommend this story. Rosalyn Landor was so good ! I could have believed that there were several people reading as she went from one character to another! I am going to search for other books that she has narrated!

I am not sure if it was the story line, or the accents that were so off-putting. I just could not finish listening to it. I am a great Nora Roberts fan so I am very confused about my reaction to this book. I intend to buy the hard copy and read it myself to give it a second chance.

Loved the story line. Some of the love scenes were a bit too graphic for me, but I could fast forward through them without spoiling the story!
