In Empires of Trust, Professor Thomas F. Madden explores surprising parallels between the Roman and American republics. By making friends of enemies and demonstrating a commitment to fairness, the two republics - both "reluctant" yet unquestioned super-powers - built empires based on trust. Madden also includes vital lessons from the Roman Republic's 100-year struggle with "terrorism."

Thomas says: "A real eye opener"
    "Good history lesson"
    Overall

This book has excellent discussions of comparison and contrast between Rome and the USA. Gives some history and insight into the nature of Empires and the uniqueness between Rome and the USA. Absolutely a MUST for anyone's library!

In this riveting new thriller, Lincoln Child weaves together a stunning Arctic landscape, a terrifying mythic creature, and a pervasive mood of chaos and fear. With Terminal Freeze, Child demonstrates why he has become a major best-selling author, and why his novels electrify and enthrall so many.

Lee says: "a gourment meal for us lovers of horror fiction"
    "Like fantast/sci-fi?"
    Overall

This story is easy to listen to and has good characters and a reasonably plausable plot for a fantasy/sci-fi story. The arctic event is another great one, if you this is your type of book. Add it!

    Story

In August of 1914, the British ship Endurance set sail for the South Atlantic. In October, 1915, still half a continent away from its intended base, the ship was trapped, then crushed in the ice. For five months, Sir Ernest Shackleton and his men, drifting on ice packs, were castaways in one of the most savage regions of the world.

Theresa says: "Amazing story, well written & well read"
    "An excellent tale of hardship"
    Overall

Yet another excellent book from audible. The narrator is great to listen to and the story keeps you wanting more. The situations these men faced were incredible to say the least and it amazes you what they went through to survive. Definantly add this one to your library.
