The son of Warcraft and Hate, Cratus spent eternity battling for the ancient gods who birthed him. He was death to any who crossed him. Until the day he laid down his arms and walked into self-imposed exile. Now an ancient enemy has been unleashed and our dreams are his chosen battlefield. "Buy the paperback, not the audio!"
    Overall

This book really isn't bad, not my favorite in the dark-hunter series, but not bad either. But the narrator is awful! I listen to audio books all the time. I've probably listened to over 200 of them, and this narrator was by far the worst that I have ever heard! I kept trying to get through it, keeping my fingers crossed that the story would get my attention enough that I could forget about how horid the narrator was, but it just didn't happen.

The other books in this series that are on audio are all really good. Pick them up, but get the paperback for this book. Don't torture yourself with listening to this!

From his penthouse lair high above Manhattan, Dageus looks out over a glittering city that calls to the darkness within him. A 16th-century Scot trapped between worlds, he is fighting a losing battle with the 13 Druids who possess his soul, dooming him to an eternity of sexual pursuit. When Chloe Zanders, student of antiquities, is drawn into his world, she finds the insatiable alpha male an irresistible lure.

    "Hot!"
    Overall

Phil Gigante does the most amazing job reading this series! His voice just makes you melt, especially when he is doing one of the Scottish Brogues!

WARNING though! Even though it's not marked as such, this book is in the middle of a series. Most of the books can be just read as stand alone, but for this one, you really do need to listen to "Kiss of the Highlander" first. But trust me, they are worth the credits!

In a world where "witches, vampires, werewolves, and shape-shifters live beside ordinary people" (Booklist), it takes a very unusual woman to call it home. By day, Mercy Thompson is a car mechanic in Eastern Washington. By night, she explores her preternatural side. As a shape-shifter with some unusual talents, Mercy's found herself maintaining a tenuous harmony between the human and the not-so- human on more than one occasion. This time she may get more than she bargained for.

Briggs is such an amazing author! I read a LOT of fantasy, and this is one of my all time favorite series! This is the 4th book in the series though, so if you haven't read any of them yet, you should start with "Moon Called".

As for the narration, King does a fantastic job!

    "Fun!"
    Overall

After reading "Bitten" I was extremely intrigued about finding out more about Clay and Jeremy. That's what this book gave me. It was extremely fun to listen to! I found myself laughing so many times at the antics of a young Clay. I do recommened getting "Bitten" first, even though this book technically takes place first.

This is becoming one of the most amazing series that I've read so far! Both "The Hunger Games" and "Catching Fire" will completely draw you in and you wont want to stop reading/listening! I listened to both of them while on a road trip, and I was very glad that I had such a long uninterupted time to listen to them! Well worth the credits!

Mercy Thompson's life is not exactly normal. Her next-door neighbor is a werewolf. Her former boss is a gremlin. And she's fixing a VW bus for a vampire. But then, Mercy isn't exactly normal herself.

    "A Favorite!"
    Overall

This is a book/series that I have loved for quite a while. It's probably one of my very favorite! I was thrilled when it finally came out in audio. The reader is fantastic! Now I just hope that books 2 & 3 are released on audio soon!

As a side note, please don't judge the book by the cover. It is an edgy urban fantasy, but not a romance.

Set in a world where some people are born with a Grace - a unique, sometimes uncanny, gift - this is the story of Katsa, whose Grace, demonstrated at an uncomfortably early age, is for killing. This makes her a perfect tool for her uncle, King Randa But Katsa chafes at the way she is being used - and even more at the injustices she sees around her. Then she meets Prince Po, who has a Grace to match hers...

    Kari says: "Outstanding first novel!"
    "Enjoyable"
    Overall

I really enjoyed this book, but the audio did take me a bit to get used to. I am not used to listening to the full cast audio books, usually just one reader. But everyone was pretty good. But I could have done without the music that was periodically inserted. I think that it was supposed to be creating suspense, but most of the time it just made me laugh.
