Detective Lindsay Boxer's long-awaited wedding celebration becomes a distant memory when she is called to investigate a horrendous crime: a badly injured teenage girl is left for dead, and her newborn baby is nowhere to be found. Lindsay discovers that not only is there no trace of the criminals - but that the victim may be keeping secrets as well.

What would have made 10th Anniversary better?

Or maybe I'm conflating the two. The narrator sounds in parts like she is leading a guided meditation, and her rendition of annoying teens or despondent people is unlistenable.

In 1970, one of Mississippi's more colorful weekly newspapers, The Ford County Times, went bankrupt. To the surprise and dismay of many, ownership was assumed by a 23 year-old college dropout, named Willie Traynor. The future of the paper looked grim until a young mother was brutally raped and murdered by a member of the notorious Padgitt family. Willie Traynor reported all the gruesome details, and his newspaper began to prosper.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

The book is ok but different from Grisham's other work. This book is more character driven and isn't a legal thriller.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

    Ending was quite slow.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Maybe if they had to take a long flight.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The setup was a little over the top.

Which character – as performed by Scott Brick – was your favorite?

    None really stood out.

Could you see Split Second being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Yes, this could probably get made as a movie.

What would have made Riptide better?

Story is ok... a little like the Goonies. Too drawn out.

What didn’t you like about Scott Brick’s performance?

Narrator sounds like he is leading a guided meditation.
