"Best of the 3"
For whatever reason, the writing is better and the plot is better in this book. The first book was pretty good, as it introduced the characters and the overall ideas. The second book was tedious and cliche'. In all books, the F-bomb is used way too much to be credible, sex is everywhere, and heaven knows why the author believes we need to know the microprocessor speed of every computer a character walks by in the stories; however, this book comes to a rather satisfying conclusion and was a fun end to the series. Not sure that the purchase of these three audiobooks was quite worth it, but it is very hard to find fiction that is well written, and this stuff is therefore well above average. It isn't Tolkien, Tolstoy, or Fennemore-Cooper (or really, even as good as Stephen King), but was still an enjoyable time listening to these books.
"Inspirational"
I haven't read the print version, but the audio performance was wonderful.
Chrissie. Inspirational.
This is a wonderful book with a strong story line. Chrissie's journey is so inspirational. I could have done without all of the United Nations stuff, but after all it is an autobiography. This is a book anyone can benefit from reading. Brilliant.
"Myopic at times, with some useful stuff thrown in."
Maybe, but I would be cautious.
Maybe.
He didn't perform characters. This was written in the third person throughout.
No
Some exceptional concepts and ideas are buried within this book. However, the author cannot seem to get past the idea that parents are all overbearing, non-nurturing, stifling, and have to be "overthrown". Are you kidding me? I get the idea that we have to unshackle ourselves, but I get the feeling the author is projecting, and it significantly takes away from the enjoyment and message of this book.
"Just when you thought it was safe...."
Ann Coulter did it again. This time not only does she call out leftists on their hypocrisy, but she also provides a very detailed history of a number of key events that are generally misunderstood in our revisionist world (French Revolution etc.). If you are a leftist and afraid to listen to Ann, I think you should reconsider. No matter your perspective, she provides well documented insight into the mob mentality and how it is used in modern times. This is the heart of the ultra-leftist (Nazi, communist, socialist, environmentalist, etc. etc.) way of thinking....all facts are relative...the mob (collective good, Volk, common will, State) is holy...
This really is a powerful read, and I enjoyed it for the depth of history provided. This is a candidate within my library for a second listen...not that many books make that grade with me. Highly recommend.
"Perfect"
Ann isn't trying to present both sides of the story. She is trying to bring forward the other half of the story that the popular media REFUSE to acknowledge. I challenge anyone to find a major error in her research. This is a great book. My only slight knock on it is that Ann didn't read it herself and I think the narrator missed some of the sarcastic barbs that require some additional tone (which Ann tends to supply in spades). It is a great book, but then really anything Ann writes is pretty interesting reading.
"Enjoyable"
This was a fun listen. Clancy belabors some of the character perspectives to gain the odd "eye roll" from me, but overall a pretty fun book. The slang is something near to Ozzy and Harriet meet the Mod Squad, and not anything like people talk today; and the narrator is really choppy and boring. Overall, worth the four stars, but I will try another Clancy book to see if I can give 5 stars.
"Powerful powerful powerful"
This is one of the most powerful stories I've experienced. It is told through the eyes of a person who has been unbelievably persecuted, and so certainly results in a single viewpoint. However, this is both a powerful viewpoint and a rarely observed paradigm. For anyone who is interested in illumination and understanding the true nature of recent Lebonese/Isreali history, this is an absolute must-listen. It is much more than that, however; This is a story that forces you to consider the premises of your understanding of middle-east relations and the nature of Islam. Truly worth the credit and a good listen. I have no doubt I will listen again at some point in the coming year...one of the few books I'd listen to twice. Enjoy, but beware, some descriptions are very sad and horrifying...but important.
"Sweet"
Reasonably well read, and of course this is a beautiful and timeless story. I wish we had more authors like this fellow. One for the ages.
"Not profound at all"
Geez...this is a really terrible listen. I was hoping for a good philosophical discussion for the science of morality. Instead I got only one man's opinion of morality. Science was overlooked. Superficially, you might feel you are listening to something scientific, but it just never makes it there...the real citations don't come through. It turns science into opinion. Way too many biases and understood "facts" that are clearly not scientifically supported. Disappointing, as I allowed the other glowing reviews to bring me to spend a precious credit on this book. Really, although not a waste of time, very tiresome and poorly argued. No profound changes of paradigm for me from this book, sorry to say.
"Terrible"
I had a friend recommend this to me. Terrible book. Some good thoughts scattered throughout, but hard to dig them out of the mess. Sorry, I just didn't think this book at all profound or helpful to me. IF it had boiled it all down to an hour, it MIGHT have been worthwhile.
"Classic Story"
Classic story. Good narration regarding voice and accent. Many fumbled words and lost moments, but tolerable given the rest of it.
