I bought this one while it was on sale because it is all the rage at my child's middle school. I listened to it first because I wanted to make sure it would be appropriate. I enjoyed it so much that I promptly purchased the second and third and now my child and I are listening together.

I laughed out loud several times. This hilarious book was well worth the credit!

The book begins with Stephen King's prologue in which he discusses how CARRIE came to be. In his own words he describes the book as a bit dated but still a good story which is exactly what I thought. I'm a long time SK reader and have enjoyed revisiting some of his older works. I am always struck with what a great story teller he is.

As some of the other reviewers have mentioned, it took me a little while to get caught up in the story. Once I was, I found myself captivated. This is my 3rd Kate Morton book and by far my favorite. Twists and turns abound. A good mystery and a nicely done historical novel.

This book is a gem. It has all of the qualities I look for including wonderful story, beautiful writing, FANTASTIC narration and a book I would listen to again. It is hard to say what this book is about in a way that conveys the sheer poetry of this story. Not always pretty and not always nice but always thought provoking.

Another word about Noah Galvan's performance: he gave such life and humanity to the character of Charlie. I have returned good books because of a bad narrator. This is a fine example of a good book made better by an excellent narrator.

I have become quite a Neal Shusterman fan! This is the 5th book of his that I have read and although I am not the target young adult audience, I found it to be a thoughtful, thought provoking and very well written. The narrators all did great jobs bringing the story of 4 people together.

This is another book I bought based on reviews. I knew nothing about it and took a leap of faith. I am so glad I did. The story starts out with the starkness of the Alaskan wilderness and as the story unfolds, so does the beauty of the landscape. The story is pretty simple but complex at the same time. I don't want to give anything away because I learned too much in previous reviews.

As for the narration, I think Debra Monk did a very nice job. Her voice and delivery was perfect for this type of story.

I read this book when it first came out in the 80s and loved it. While the story is basically good, it is very dated now. The narrator is very stiff and his pronunciation of Los Angeles as "Loz An-gel-eez" drove me crazy.

The win-win sales on Audible are a fantastic way to discover new books. This book would have been worth the whole credit because the story was so well told. As with other reviews, I agree that it started off a bit slowly, but once I got into it I enjoyed it so much. This was my second Kate Morton book (the first being The Forgotten Garden) and I found this story to be far superior.

The story goes back and forth through time and weaves a well researched tapestry. For Downton Abbey fans, this takes place in roughly the same time period. Caroline Lee's narration was terrific.

I knew a bit about Marcus Samuelsson from his time on Top Chef Masters, but didn't expect to read his book. After all, how interesting can a book about cooking be if you aren't a chef? In a word: plenty. Marcus Samuelsson ayers his story the same way he layers his flavors. The story is very interesting and and easily sweeps the listener along. It is a beautiful story!

A note about Marcus Samuelsson's narration since other reviewers have complained. I found his quiet, relaxed style to be the perfect way to tell the story. I didn't have any difficulty understanding him and I appreciate the fact that he read his own story.

I highly recommend this book! I chose it based on the excellent reviews and am happy to add mine to the list.

I have several Stephen King books in my audible library and have enjoyed some more than others. My favorites tend to be the more "plausible" such as Dolores Claiborne. 11-22-63 sets a new benchmark for SK! My criteria for a good audio book has always been a story that pulls me in right away, one that keeps my interest and one that has a good narrator. This book has all 3 and lots of food for thought as well.

To start with, I was into the story immediately and was loathe to turn off my iPod for anything other than a great story. The narrator told the story rather than reading it. There was so much I didn't know about the era that piqued my interest. So often a book gets off to a good start but doesn't deliver, but that is not true here. The ending was satisfying as well.

The book will appeal to non-King fans as well. Perhaps his best...
