In this audiobook, the brain behind the Kurzweil Reading Machine, the Kurzweil synthesizer, advanced speech recognition, and other technologies devises a framework for envisioning the next century. Kurzweil guides us through the inexorable advances that will result in computers exceeding the memory capacity and computational ability of the human brain.

Would you listen to The Age of Spiritual Machines again? Why?

This is one book worth multiple listens due to the theories laid out by Ray Kurzweil. There are many barriers to achieving the path he foresees for the human race and the path may meander. However, I can see the potential and each of the steps provide a set of ethics to chew over.

  • Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right

    • UNABRIDGED (9 hrs and 51 mins)
    • By Al Franken
    • Narrated By Al Franken
    Overall

    Performance
    (344)
    Story
    (357)

Finding logical inconsistencies, factual errors, and doublespeak wherever he looks, Al Franken takes on and destroys the myth of liberal bias in the media, hoists the Bush White House on its own rhetorical petard, and punctures the mean-spirited sanctimony of such media darlings as Ann Coulter and Bill O'Reilly. Timely, provocative, unfailingly honest, and always uproarious, Lies is sure to raise hackles and spark hilarity inside the Beltway and from sea to shining sea.

I wish I could lend books in Audible! Everyone should hear AL Frankin read his well-informed expose of the Right-wing's lies.

As they tell it themselves, "We wrote The Bible (Abridged) when the good folks at Washington D.C.'s Kennedy Center requested a follow-up to our eight week sold-out run of Shakespeare and America."

Where does The Bible rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This was more of an EP than a book but it was a fun way to fill a workout session or two.

Would you be willing to try another book from Reduced Shakespeare Company? Why or why not?

The Reduced Shakespeare Company are a fun group to listen to. If they can bring life to such a dry subject as The Bible, then I imagine they can make most anything engaging.
