  • The Nature of the Beast

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 46 mins)
    • By Frances Fyfield
    • Narrated By Rula Lenska

Different people react to disasters in different ways. When an Intercity service travelling from Kent to London joins Paddington, Hatfield, and Selby in a deadly list of notoriety, it isn't only fate who decides who is killed: one passenger uses the opportunity for argument to spill over into murder; while another, blonde, beautiful Amy Petty, sees the train crash as an opportunity to leave her life behind.

Dorothy says: "The Nature of he Bease (unabridged)"
    "Not a cozy mystery"

I did not enjoy this book at all. The writing was disjointed and the story difficult to follow. The content was disgusting.

Not your typical boring diet book, this is a tart-tongued, no-holds-barred wakeup call to all women who want to be thin. With such blunt advice as "soda is liquid Satan" and "you are a total moron if you think the Atkins Diet will make you thin", it's a rallying cry for all savvy women to start eating healthy and looking radiant. Unlike standard diet books, it actually makes the reader laugh out loud with its truthful, smart-mouthed revelations.

Erica Marie says: "I stopped drinking soda immediately after"
    "Don't bother reading this trash"

I thought this book might be amusing but instead found it to be crass and sickening. The information offered was not backed up by any proof. A total waste of time and money. Why did they publish this?

  • Next to a Dog

    • UNABRIDGED (29 mins)
    • By Agatha Christie
    • Narrated By Jonathan Cecil

Widow Joyce Lambert is poor and out of work.  So fond is she of her little half-blind aging terrier Terry, a gift from her late husband that she will do just about anything to keep him!

    Jo says: "No ending"
    "No ending"

The story is sentimental and sweet but the last sentence is cut off and it leaves the reader hanging. I asked for help with it, but none was forthcoming.

  • Cardington Crescent

    • UNABRIDGED (11 hrs and 3 mins)
    • By Anne Perry
    • Narrated By Davina Porter

Charlotte Pitt's sister, Emily, has been accused of murdering her wayward but wealthy husband. Now Charlotte and police inspector Thomas Pitt must breach a formidable uppercrust barrier to prove Emily's innocence. Anne Perry's Victorian mysteries are rich and suspenseful journeys into a world filled with impeccable manners and intrigue.

Kathi says: "Liked this book very much"

I enjoyed the book and it kept my interest to the end where it lost steam completely. The author appeared to be in a hurry to finish, leaving the reader hanging and not in a good or exciting way. A disappointment after such a build up.
