"ideas good, audio experience monotonous"
This seems almost like I listened in "random" mode. It does not flow. The ideas sometimes are clear, but they present little progression. Disappointing after listening and reading _A New Earth__. Sandy
"lots to learn"
This fascinated me and confirmed one of my suspicions that when we adapt artificially, we do not allow our bodies to adapt naturally so we get hurt more easily. Natural is better.
"partner -- WHY?"
I enjoyed the book and picked it because I have done some AT hiking and plan to do more, but partners really make a difference so . . .Sandy
"Reminds me of things I had forgotten"
This is really interesting and brings up lots of different views of making it in Atlanta and growing a business and family.
"Initially interesting, but NOT"
After an initial interest, I lost track and did not care what happened to the characters. The stream of unconsciousness simply turned into too many words and too much self-absorption. I agree with the reviewer who said that fast-forwarding an hour would not change anything. Would return if possible. Not worth the effort to listen. Only good for those who believe that endless discussion can resolve anything.
"hypnotic & entrancing (dble-spk?)"
I have listened to this book several times since January of 2002. It never fails to capture me. The voice and the story both are intriguing. It takes the listener to another world and yet gives familiarity also. Very hard to believe that it is fiction. I have recommended it to many others. I also have read it, but listening to the unabridged version improved the quality of the experience in this case. Sandy
