"Must read if you are interested in economy"
A very interesting angle on how debt developed, where money come from and many more. Despite many references, this is not a book on archeology. Many of author's remarks in history and discovery of ancient civilizations make the book so much more worthwhile as well as trustworthy.
great read, highly recommended
"For die hard court room drama lovers only"
The story starts in an intriguing way - there is a bad guy and a good guy and distinction blurs as the story develops before clarifying (not so unsurprisingly) at the finale.
But somewhere in one-third it seems like the author has just realized that he should be adding some good 200 pages for the book to look serious in hard cover. The story meanders into unnecessary details which for me neither give color to any of the characters nor are at epic highs.
I will give a try but need to forget this experience now. Maybe other Mitzner's stories contain more mystery.
The voice differs within the same paragraph (recorded in parts?), sometimes tone seems adjusted to the character/situation, sometimes is flat - I prefer uniformity
This may be a good material for a TV series
one book that I did not like just proves I otherwise love audible content
"Hilarious, topsy-tourvey, Monty-Paytonish ... if"
great light listen - high on the list of comedies
comic story, ever changing , situation jokes, play on words, but also some deep thoughts (as usual)
you need to like Woody Allen's voice
Laugh
Hilarious stories sprinkled with Topsy-tourvy story line logic (or lack thereof ... :-)) makes these short books a great listen for all the fans of Monty Python-like humor. Well, you need to like the voice of the author, though.
Highly recommended as an interlude to your regular
