He has been executed, the knife work professional, the killers vanished. Within minutes, the police are notified. Not thrilling....tedious first 2 hrs...long boring descriptions of just about everything---clothing,weather, cars, briefcases, etc.,etc.,etc.,
The plot was slow to evolve and the villians difficult to identify, the ending ho hum....it gave me no incentive to care about the villian.....Wanted Man is not typical of Lee Child's talent.!

Interesting that a basic kind, down to earth sheriff has such a interesting set of villains to deal with.....in an unusual, sometimes unbelievable environment.....The Mormon cult angle interesting....but again "old world".....
The interesting nick names for Walt's friends, co-workers add a humorous twist to the story line.......
    Light, enjoyable listen !

One rainy night in the woods outside of Portland, Dr. Victoria Peres is called to the site of a strange and haunting crime scene. Six beautiful young girls — all in white dresses and arranged in a perfect circle — have been left for dead. Only one girl, fighting for her life at a nearby hospital, has survived the carnage. Stranger still, the crime is an exact replica of a decades-old cold case. Things only get more complicated when Medical Examiner Seth Rutledge, Victoria’s first love, arrives on the scene.

The plot was slow to evolve......the romance, slow, and predicable ....lots of descriptive romantic stuff ( gestures, thoughts, actions ) repetitive, repetitive, repetitive......
Plot does take a unexpected turn towards the end.....but not strong enough to give this novel more than a two rating.......

Digs into Joe Pike's past...his childhood, why he left L.A.P.D ..even the women in his past, and present life.
Good crime novel, one does not have to had read previous Elivs Cole novels to enjoy his one !
Story delves deep into the underworld of the L.A.P.D. , good cop/bad cop....pecking order, discrimination, morals and revenge. Believable...well maybe that is a little far fetched !
    A great listen....narration a plus.....

Holland and Niles Perry are identical thirteen-year-old twins. They are close, close enough, almost, to read each other's thoughts, but they couldn't be more different. Holland is bold and mischievous, a bad influence, while Niles is kind and eager to please, the sort of boy who makes parents proud. The Perrys live in the bucolic New England town their family settled centuries ago, and as it happens, the extended clan has gathered at its ancestral farm this summer to mourn the death of the twins' father in a most unfortunate accident.

A series of horrifying events occur in quick succession in the same upscale L.A. neighborhood. A backyard renovation unearths an infant's body, buried 60 years ago. And soon thereafter in a nearby park, another disturbingly bizarre discovery is made not far from the body of a young woman shot in the head. Helping LAPD homicide detective Milo Sturgis to link these eerie incidents is brilliant psychologist Alex Delaware. But even the good doctor's vast experience with matters both clinical and criminal might not be enough.

I found a very weak story line.....too much repetition.....and do readers really need a detailed description of each article of clothing each character is wearing ....does this add to the story line....don't waste a credit on this one !

Who am I? My name is Christy Snow. I'm 17 and I'm about to die. I'm buried in a coffin under tons of concrete. No one knows where I am. My heart sounds like a monster with clobber feet, running straight toward me. I'm lying on my back, soaked with sweat from the hair on my head to the soles of my feet. My hands and feet won't stop shaking. Some will say that I'm not really here. Some will say I'm delusional. Some will say that I don t even exist. But who are they? I'm the one buried in a grave.

A woman has vanished while digging a dinosaur bone bed in the remote wilderness of Canada. Somehow, the only evidence has made its way to the inbox of Chief Medical Examiner Kay Scarpetta, over 2,000 miles away, in Boston. She has no idea why. But as events unfold with alarming speed, Scarpetta begins to suspect that the paleontologist's disappearance is connected to a series of crimes - much closer to home: a gruesome murder, inexplicable tortures, and trace evidence from the last living creatures of the dinosaur age.

I was hoping this would be a Patricia Cornwell come back....it was disappointing.....It was a chore listening......I found that the beginning was a tedious long and boring dialogue with much to much description of things that did not really matter....did not enhance the story line, or encourage one to continue the book......it was really hard for me to continue, but I kept hoping it would get better.........
The monotone of the narration did not enhance the experience......
I will not get caught again !

Looking forward to the return of the author James Patterson .........

Given the importance of what they do, and the controversies that often surround them, and the violent people they sometimes confront, it is remarkable that in the history of this country only four active federal judges have been murdered. Judge Raymond Fawcett has just become number five.... Nothing is as it seems and everything’s fair game in this wickedly clever new novel from John Grisham, the undisputed master of the legal thriller.
