"Great story with fabulous characters"
The setting and story line was good. Sometimes it took a direction I expected then quickly went down a different path. The supporting charactures diversity and insane moves give Sophie something special, makes me want to see what will happen next.
Mary Ann is my favorite characture in this book. You will have to listen to find out why.
Gabra does well with everything she performs. Following Gabra is how I found Kyra Davis!
Yes! And I did. Not only did I listen to it in one sitting, I plan to listen again in a few days.
Great author and narrator! A bad narrator will ruin a book, Gabra is one of the best. Ms. Davis writes a great story every time. I can't wait to read her next work.
"A bridge for the series"
The story was ok. I didn't feel cheated until thelast few chapters. This book in the series felt more like an introduction to a few more characters
I've enjoyed the writing. The narrator reads a little too slow for me. I listen at a higher speed to accommodate the slower pace of the narraitors characterization. Every few minutes she would speed up and I would have to slow it down or go back 60 seconds.
Each character has a good voice. I can tell the difference between them with no problem. Again, the slower pace made me feel like some of the characters were too slow.
I believe it does have a follow up and I'll listen because I need to know where it ends. This book abruptly stopped with no real significant conflict.
Nancy, please pick up the pace
"Disastrously Funny"
Comical, Witty, Strange!
Collin Sutherland was my favorite character - When he began to change and morph You could clearly see that he was not persnickety or stuffy.
I've only listened to Amanda Ronconi's perform books written by Molly Harper. The accent and emotions she puts into her performance does the book justice. I was not quite happy with the voice of a character from a prior book; you will likely guess which one I am talking about.
A charming roadtrip full of disaster!
Molly Harper does a great job bringing a modern feel to the ancient vampires. The way she brings the night time characters together with the daytime characters is great. This story is full of calamity and adventure.
"Nice short story for the price"
I enjoyed the narrator, the speed ov her voice was good and she gave the characters a little life.
Leo, a bold scamp!
I always prefer listening over reading except when the narrator is bad. I cannot say anything bad about this one. I was. It disappointed
I was devistaded by one part towards the end, it was like there would not be a happily ever after.
The entire story grabbed my attention and although the ending was predictable I loved it. I'm not usually interested in short stories.
"Two Hot Cowboys"
The story was great, the performance was very good ~ I usually have a hard time getting used to different the different voices the narrator gives to characters but Scarlet Chase did a great job. The story was great and at times I found myself hoping Lannie would never make a decision.
Kyle was my favorite character, he had an open bad boy attitued that made me fall in love with him.
Too many to be specific!
I had a reaction - one I should not tell you about.
The romance scenes qualify this as erotic!
"Ick!"
Maybe, the stories were ok but I will probably stick to longer stories.
Maybe, depends on the narrator
The narrator is overly high pitched and squeals too much...
Disappointment, the narrator really messed this one up for me. It was like listening to erotica read by a 16 year old...
"Hiaasen's Best!"
This has to be my favorite Hiaasen book! Great story and the characters are fabulous. Hiaasen has a special way of bringing the crazies out in a soothing way. Becareful of the abridged version though... I accidentially purchased it and they are not returnable! We picked up the full version at the library and loved it much more than the abridged.
