    Overall

I love James Redfield's books... I've read most of them and thought this would be good company for me while I painted in my studio. The plot is a typical one for Redfield; I found the subject matter to be very interesting and I learned some new things. The narrator did a pretty good job with the various voices, especially the Tibetan ones, but the protagonist's voice was sometimes annoying. My only real complaint is that the overall quality of the recording was a bit garbled. I had to turn the volume way up to hear it, and even then it wasn't always clear.

For an instant, the two trains ran side by side. In that frozen moment, Elspeth McGillicuddy witnessed a murder. She saw the body crumple. Then the other train drew away. Everyone but Miss Jane Marple was willing to dismiss her friend's distraught report. Diligently studying train routes, timetables, and tracks, Miss Marple imagines where the body might be. Her detective genius includes playing the little-old-lady card and, ultimately, winning the challenge of wits.

This Christie novel was a little bit slow. Miss Marple doesn't appear until well into the book. However I did enjoy it, and I suppose most Agatha Christie fans will... Good plot, good characters, and good narration. It's just not one of my favorites!

No one warned Jerry and Joanna that vile, anonymous letters were being sent to various villagers and, indeed, they soon receive such a letter themselves. A letter, of course, is only harmful if a recipient takes it so seriously she kills herself-which happens soon after the story begins. And then there is a murder. Is this the result of a letter, or of a deranged mind that fears discovery? Jerry Burton is out of investigative ideas when Miss Marple appears, ready to solve the crime.

This was a really good listen. The plot kept me guessing and the characters were entertaining. I especially loved Martin Jarvis' narration. At times I laughed out loud! I wish he'd do more Christie but this seems to be the only one... so, check it out! You won't be disappointed!

The rich master of Enderby Hall, Richard Abernethie, has passed away, leaving his massive fortune divided up between family members. The rest of his family are quick to stop his sister Cora from speaking further when, at the reading of the will with Mr. Entwhistle, the family solicitor, she suggests that his death may not have been as natural as it appears to have been. The next day, another body shows up. Cora has been killed with a hatchet, supposedly during a robbery. They turn to brilliant detective Hercule Poirot for help.

I enjoyed this Agatha Christie book. The plot kept my interest, and the narration was excellent. It's always a nice surprise to find a Christie novel I haven't read yet!

This is a delightful tale of hopes and dreams and the magic moments in life. The story is not too long - I listened to it in two afternoons - and it held my interest. The narrator, Juliet Stevenson, was one of the best I've ever heard. Her range of voices for the different characters was nothing short of amazing!! I highly recommend it!

When Miss Katherine Grey unexpectedly inherits a small fortune, she books the famous Blue Train for a trip to the French Riviera. Her new milieu includes millionaire Ruth Kettering, Ruth's estranged husband, a French mistress, and an inquisitive foreign man with an egg-shaped head and waxed moustache. But Nice is not so nice, for on arrival, the gendarmerie asks Miss Grey to identify the strangled body of one of the pampered passengers, and for the great Hercule Poirot's help in solving the crime.

This is a really marvelous Agatha Christie "who-dun-it" with a well developed cast of characters and a good twist at the end. What makes it even more enjoyable is the superb narration by John Moffatt, who plays each role with distinctive voices and a touch of humor...I actually laughed out loud several times while listening! This audio book did a good job of keeping me company while I work. :)
