  • Blind Allegiance to Sarah Palin: A Memoir of Our Tumultuous Years

    • UNABRIDGED (13 hrs and 54 mins)
    • By Frank Bailey, Ken Morris, Jeanne Devon
    • Narrated By Holter Graham
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

This explosive, up-close view of Sarah Palin comes from an inner-circle confidant who shares surprising information about how Sarah dealt with staff and perceived "enemies" and the discrepancy between what she said and what she did.

    Vincent says: "Inside looking out."
    "Fantastic for anyone..."

No matter if you are a republican or a democrat a liberal or a conservative there is something for you in this book. Believe it or not I did not find this to be a book which is pushing a political ideology. It was a book about right and wrong. It was a book that I felt really showed the immorality of Mrs. Palin, her family, and her campaign.

The only reasons I did not give it 5 stars is that there a moments clealy inserted by the co authors that are so over the top they are a little stomach turning. Like when they describe Sarah Palin as a 5 foor 5 inch Aphrodite...ew.

  • Decision Points

    • UNABRIDGED (20 hrs and 11 mins)
    • By George W. Bush
    • Narrated By Ron McLarty
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Decision Points is the extraordinary memoir of America's 43rd president. Shattering the conventions of political autobiography, George W. Bush offers a strikingly candid journey through the defining decisions of his life.

Dave says: "Not a bad choice"
    "Total Whitewash"

This was such a waste of time. It was such a whitewashing of history. Hours of rewriting actual facts and trying to polish a legacy stained with bull crap. This man is such a delusional idiot I am still amazed America fell for this man twice. Read it only to watch a man desperate to justify his actions which were taken just to try and work out his daddy issues.

  • Dirty Sexy Politics

    • UNABRIDGED (4 hrs and 27 mins)
    • By Meghan McCain
    • Narrated By Meghan McCain

Meghan McCain came to prominence as the straight-talking, progressive daughter of the 2008 Republican presidential candidate Senator John McCain. And her profile has only risen since the election ended in favor of the other guy. What makes Meghan so appealing? As a new role model for young, creative, and vocal members of the GOP, she’s unafraid to mix it up and speak her mind. She doesn’t shy away from serious issues and her raucous humor and down-to-earth style keep her positions accessible.

    John says: "Refreshing but naive?"
    "Good for every political shade"

As a progressive I do not agree with the author on many policies or politics. However, this book was refreshingly honest and the exact dialoge that we as a country should be striving for. Dialoge that understands that we have to find a middle ground and listen to each other with believing the other side to be evil. I admire Meghan McCain for bucking her own party, not out of the need for attention, but for her need to be true to herself and her beliefs.

  • Married to the Boss

    • UNABRIDGED (7 hrs and 25 mins)
    • By Lori Foster
    • Narrated By Gina Cedarwood
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Dana Dillinger had been R.J. Maitland's right hand for years - loyal, dependable, and hopelessly, secretly, in love with him. So when he popped the question to prove he wasn't the playboy the press labeled him, she accepted his "proposal". But where R.J. envisioned a marriage in name only, Dana refused to settle for anything less than his heart....

Dianne NH says: "Some dangling major threads left"
    "SPOILER-Great passion/horrible accents"

Here is what I loved about the book: great chemistry between the two main characters and the premise is very fantasy like for quite a few women with 'the man she has secretly loved finally coming to his senses' aspect. I really liked the supportive family dynamic, the mom busting out the skank, and the banter from everyone in the book.

Here is what I really did not like: The southern accents. When I read a book where I know there is one I insert my own version on my head. I used to have a southern accent and over the years it has faded to nothing. But I have tons of friends and family still with the accent. The author enunciated ever single solitary word in a way that DRIPPED with the accent.
Then the vocabulary used by these people shows they are clearly educated. However, some of the words combined with the over the top accent made me laugh. I do not know one educated southern person who would say 'abdicated' and 'vicious insinuations' with an accent like they were from the backwoods of the Mississippi Delta. Also the way Dana kept saying his name, RJ, also with the dripping accent off each letter was annoying.

Also the female protagonist seemed to have buried her personality to please this man and she also seems to have buried any self esteem because of her mother abuse. However, the way it is written is like she is a child who is so over the top naïve that it is ridiculous. She is strong when she wants to stand up to RJ but she seems so helpless at times it pathetic. I understand that there is a fantasy of a man saving the seemingly helpless woman, but she then finds she is stronger that she thought, and the two build a partnership…but this went a little too far and felt a little insulting.

Overall I liked it quite a bit and would recommend it but beware of the accents!
