I grew up reading books of Louis L'Amour. I have read this book 20 plus times. So when I saw it was available on audible, I jumped on it. Then to have Bridges narrate it, it was perfect. I just hope they keep making more of his books available, next I am waiting on is Flint!
Great book, great narrator, fantastic finish, looking forward to Mickey changes sides, from defense, to prosecutor.
I purchased the book, because of the Monster, Inc. series. Loved the book. It is really cool having the alternate history, with the alternate magic vs technology. Love the main character. Reminds me of Harry Dresden. Buy the book, you will not regret it.
I purchased this book, because I wanted to see how the series ended. But couldn't finish it. Mr. Wolfe, starts to go off on tangents, which do not really follow the main story line. For example, he spends approximately 30 minutes of time reviewing a story in side a book, that the main character is reading. Next, he spends a great amount of time, retelling a play that the main character had a part in. This series had such potential, but I couldn't keep going on with the series, or even the book, due to these diversions.
I loved this series as a youth. I am so happy that audible has gone back and gotten this series! Anyone, who loves fantasy will love this series. The narriator is excellent, and the book is great, well worth the money.
This series of books concernning the last remaining druid is great. I love reading all books concerning different myths. This series utilize the Celtic mythos. If you love Riodan's books with Percy Jackson and the Kane children. Then you will love this book. I grew up reading fantasy. I had noticed that true fantasy has fallen to wayside, as Urban fantasy has gain in popularity. This book is the reason Urban fantasy has grown. The greatest part of the whole series are the interaction between the druid and his wolfhound!! The author has a winner series here along the lines of Harry Dresden, and I look forward to more books!
Ms. Chima, has two series that I have followed. Both of them are excellent. This book continues the saga, building upon the story line. The development of the characters and how they interact continues to intrigue the reader. I can not wait for the final installment in this series. I also recommend the series of The Warrior Heir.
This was a great book. I really, liked how Mr. Butcher went back into Harry's life and filled in some gaps. This helps the reader/listener understand Harry better. The voice of narrator, is not what we expect, but I listened to the book to hear about Harry, not to listen to a voice. Buy the book, it is a great book and builds on Harry's repuatation.
I actually own all of the books of this series on CD, wanted them downloaded to my IPOD so purchased them again, and downloaded the books. I have listened to this book over 10 times. It is a great book. I am amazed that the author is so young. My young children have listened to whole series several times. I really place this series right up there with the Harry Potter series. Buy the book, and prepare for many hours of enjoyment. Plots only get better as the series progresses.
I listen to at least 4-5 audio books a week (long commute). I thought that this book would be more along the lines of a Dan Brown book with puzzles and mysteries to solve. Very bland book, no real suspense, no action. I finished it, but will never listen to it again. How do I say this?? Wait until it gets put on the discount rack before spending good money on this book.
