Where does Deadlocked 3 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

As far as zombie books I rate this a 2 out of 6.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Hero and his twin brother. I liked them the best because they added humor to this installment of the series.

Have you listened to any of Christian Rummel’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I listened to the entire Remaining series and I enjoy him because you and distinguish the character when he reads.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Spoiler: When they had to take to hill to the dock and hero had his brother on his back and he and Billie made it a competition to see who killed the Mose zombies. Then hero and his brother ran straight into to the zombies. I cried he he said said tell him he's my Hero.

What did you love best about The Failed Coward?

Not a whole lot. Just when we were hearing the story as it actually happened. I got tired of hearing the same stories I heard in the other books. It was 2 hours of repeat.

Has The Failed Coward turned you off from other books in this genre?

Yes and no. I like to listen to him tell his story but it was missing a bit of action. When are we going to learn more about the zombie tapping the watch and the books issue?????

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

I like the narrator a lot.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, It got a little boring. I still have no idea what the deal is with is soldier friend. I'm waiting for the 2 stories to tie together.

    Any additional comments?

I'm not wasting a credit on the next book. I feel like i'm being led on with this series and still no action.

That’s the flummoxed state of Edward Stanton, a 42-year-old with Asperger’s syndrome. His job, his therapist, and his best friends are all gone. Even his nightly ritual of watching Dragnet reruns has short-circuited. But a call from his friend Donna in Idaho, telling him that her son Kyle is in trouble, launches Edward from his rigidly scheduled existence in Billings, Montana, to the open road. He and Kyle, a sweet little boy turned sullen adolescent, debate football, music, and bodily functions (“Why do you pee so much?” Kyle asks).

Would you consider the audio edition of Edward Adrift to be better than the print version?

I am not sure if I would enjoy reading this. It was a little odd in the beginning. I might have put it aside if I had not read 3 horrible books before this. I am glad I kept listening. This was an awesome listen.

What other book might you compare Edward Adrift to and why?

Seize the Night and Fear Nothing by Dean Koontz. These were not books I would normally read or listen to but I really enjoyed them.

    Which scene was your favorite?

When Edward read the letter from his dad and he and Sheila's relationship.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed a lot. I got a little angry and said some things out loud. This book was very interactive for me.

    Any additional comments?

The narrator was great as well.

What would have made Grace Lost better?

I should have know by the title. Grace Lost What ? If she had left out the sex and added some action or goor. It's a zombie book right? Where were the zombies? The sex parts were even weak.

What could M. Lauryl Lewis have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

There was not character development. The women were too weak and coddled for my taste. If she had elaborated more on Zoe being able to read the zombies minds and knowing when they are around. It might have been better. It was sooooo drawn out and boring.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Karie Silko?

Lets see: Julia Whelan, kirsten Potter, Amy McFadden and Susannah Sandlin just to name a few.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

    It ended

He made a huge mistake when he put his hands on her, thinking that he could get away with it - but he made an even bigger mistake by not making sure she was dead before he left that house. Finding Jordan’s secret half-brother is just the beginning of Lonnie’s plot for revenge.

Would you try another book from J. D. Mason and/or Cary Hite?

Yes I would read another book by J.D Mason but not with Cary Hite. Cary Hite is boring and dry. He lacks emotion and I don't like him reading for women.

What was most disappointing about J. D. Mason’s story?

It was a little redundant. He just kept recapping from the first book. This one was long and drawn out. It story just keeps dragging on it could have been only one book. A part 2 was not needed.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

He was boring and lacked emotion a lot of times.

What character would you cut from Drop Dead, Gorgeous?

They were all boring. I really enjoyed the first book. There was no need for a part 2

I would recommend to friends. It was different from any others I've read. It was from the perspective if the military. He actually wanted to help humanity.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I was mad at first but. I hate when ppl I get attached too die. But it made for an exciting ending.

It all ends here. The characters of the Deadlocked series have been through nearly unbearable challenges, but they're about to face the hardest yet. Kim has been taken by the cruelest, most vile person in the series, and it's up to Billy and Levon to save her. All the while, Laura fights for her life in the grip of the military as they perform tests on her daughter, Annie, that are risking the little girl's life. The conspiracy behind the rise of the zombie plague will be revealed as Reagan uncovers the horrible secret that led to the murder of six and a half billion people.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would have picked another narrator. I have read other books that he read and this one didn't fit. He sounded the say with each character. If you miss the part where he says" said Billie" then I was lost. He tried to sound country for Billie sometimes but bad attempt. This was a little Charlie Brown too.

What did you like best about this story?

I got a little more detail about the infection. Also met a lot of interesting new characters.

How could the performance have been better?

I think the same narrator should have read the entire series like zombie fallout- Sean runnette. I like Christian rummel who read part 3.

Could you see Deadlocked 4 being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

I need more time to think about this one!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Deadlocked 2?

The mom was a very strong women. I liked that.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator lacked emotion the same with the first.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When she hit the guy with the bat that they saved because he wanted to take billie's boat and her trip to the pharmacy to save her daughter.

This was the worse book I have ever listened to. I have read deadlock 1-7 I love the story. But the narrator was horrible. He reminded me of Charlie browns teacher. Lol

Who was your favorite character and why?

Because I read then all and i am a mom I have to go with the mom.

How could the performance have been better?

The first 4 should have been longer. They were more like short stories.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, it's a great story just too short.

    Any additional comments?

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I think the book would have been better is there was a different narrator. There was too much unnecessary emotion when she read. The true characters could not shine through at all.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I enjoyed the ending very much., I am actually reading a hard copy and it's better and better with me reading it myself.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Hillary Hawkins?

I like Cary Hite and Honey Jones. This narrator made all the ladies sound like they had an attitude when they didn't. She made the men sound angry and slow all the time. Then at others the women sounded as though they were winning and crying all the time. There was never a regular tone or any in between in any of the conversations.

I really liked Cary Hite and Honey Jones sound effects and emotions when they read. This narrator had emotion but it was misplaced.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    no
