Guy Montag was a fireman whose job it was to start fires....The system was simple. Everyone understood it. Books were for burning...along with the houses in which they were hidden. Montag enjoyed his job. He had been a fireman for 10 years, and he had never questioned the pleasure of the midnight runs, nor the joy of watching pages consumed by flames...never questioned anything until he met a 17-year-old girl who told him of a past when people were not afraid.

    "Get the other version"
    Overall

My daughter had to read this for school and I wanted to be able to answer any questions she may have. I initially bought this version, but could not listen to it due to the narration. I purchased the other version instead, which was much easier to listen to and made it an enjoyable book. The story itself is good, just not the narration of this version.

SFX: Ker-flush "That's the sound of my career going down the toilet. Three months ago, I was the freelance reporter to call for full-color images of an international crisis. Now? I'm stationed at the far edge of the Chicago flyover as a disappointing mother-sub to my eight-year-old niece and the babysitter for a newsroom College Boy. One photo of the lifeless man was all I needed to see - there's more to this story than anyone wants to admit."

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I would recommend this audiobook. The story is very well written. All the pieces come together at a good pace and with just the right amount of detail. There were no slow moments, so I was constantly engaged with the story and eager to hear what came next. I love mysteries and this one is no exception. The storyline was very different from anything else I have read/listened to, and I was left guessing all the way to the end...nothing predictable here. Also, the narrator did a great job reading the story.
