Ten years ago, Calamity came. It was a burst in the sky that gave ordinary men and women extraordinary powers. The awed public started calling them Epics. But Epics are no friend of man. With incredible gifts came the desire to rule. And to rule man you must crush his wills. Nobody fights the Epics...nobody but the Reckoners. A shadowy group of ordinary humans, they spend their lives studying Epics, finding their weaknesses, and then assassinating them. And David wants in. He wants Steelheart - the Epic who is said to be invincible. The Epic who killed David's father.

One of the coolest books that I have listened to all year! Very well written with excellent narration from Macleod Andrews which resulted in a very absorbing experience that I really didn't want to end.

The only bad thing about listening to this book is the long wait until Book 2 is released.
For the last few years any new book by Brandon Sanderson has been an instant buy for me. Book 2 of the Reckoners series will be no different.. I would preorder it right now if I could!

On a damp October night, beautiful young Ashley Cordova is found dead in an abandoned warehouse in lower Manhattan. Though her death is ruled a suicide, veteran investigative journalist Scott McGrath suspects otherwise. As he probes the strange circumstances surrounding Ashley’s life and death, McGrath comes face-to-face with the legacy of her father: the legendary, reclusive, cult-horror-film director Stanislas Cordova - a man who hasn’t been seen in public for more than thirty years.

Night Film exceeded all of my expectations. I had heard a bunch of hype about this book and that alone has generally been cause for a big inevitable let down when the book that has been defined as the next "Gone Girl" or "Harry Potter" only garners a big "Meh" once I finish the book and move on to the next.

Night Film, however, held my attention throughout. From the first creepy appearance of Ashley Cordova I was hooked. Tensions steadily build from page one until you start to get the feeling that something horrible could happen at any moment.

Night Film is one of those books that I really didn't want to come to an end.

Excellent narration, great story, intriguing ending.. well worth your audiobook credit!

Another awesome techno thriller from Daniel Suarez. Kill Decision is slathered with lots of techno babble, awesome weapons and incredibly creative and cool countermeasures. As a fan of techno thrillers I was in heaven! Kill Decision is one of those books that I can easily see myself coming back to and enjoying multiple times in the future.

Jeff Gurner was great once again. If you haven't already listened to Suarez's other two books do yourself a favor and download Daemon & Freedom today. You will enjoy Gurner's great narration in both books.
