Butch O'Neal is a fighter by nature. A hard-living ex-homicide cop, he's the only human ever to be allowed in the inner circle of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. And he wants to go even deeper into the vampire world-to engage in the turf war with the lessers. His heart belongs to a female vampire, Marissa, an aristocratic beauty who's way out of his league. And if he can't have her, then at least he can fight side by side with the Brothers.

"a waste if you've already read the series"
    Overall

Having once read the whole series I have gone back and purchased the audio's after Lover Avenged and this was the last book I had to complete my audio list of the series.. it's so disappointing after having finished the series thus far... Love the series but when you go back and catch things the author somehow changed or mistakenly messed up something of these great characters it's just frustrating. It was a good read, not my favorite in the series, but a waste if you've read the later books.

A smashing, award-winning debut novel that introduces Charley Davidson: part-time private investigator and full-time Grim Reaper. Charley sees dead people. That’s right, she sees dead people. And it’s her job to convince them to “go into the light”. But when these very dead people have died under less than ideal circumstances (i.e. murder), sometimes they want Charley to bring the bad guys to justice. Complicating matters are the intensely hot dreams she’s been having about an Entity who has been following her all her life...and it turns out he might not be dead after all.

So many things I want to say.. but don't want to give anything away.... I really ENJOYED this book.. Listened to it several time's in just a few days. Very entertaining, for me! This book was a recommendation and I wavered about getting it but figured if J.R. Ward liked it so much, why not try. Can't wait for the next one.

MacKayla Lane was just a child when she and her sister, Alina, were given up for adoption and banished from Ireland forever. Twenty years later, Alina is dead and Mac has returned to the country that expelled them to hunt her sister’s murderer. But after discovering that she descends from a bloodline both gifted and cursed, Mac is plunged into a secret history: an ancient conflict between humans and immortals who have lived concealed among us for thousands of years.

Katheryne says: "I loved it, but its not for everyone"
    "Epic!"
    Overall

Well worth time and money. Natalie Ross and Phil Gigante do such an excellent job bringing out the characters and the story. I'm left feeling so strongly about what's going on, much more then just reading it from the page. Karen Moning has created a such a elaborate and complicated world and you can't help but get sucked into the story... This series has wrapped around my mind for years now.. and this book did not disappoint at all.

    Overall

The story line had great potential... but it flopped for me in the middle.. just kept dragging on. The villain became to much and the hero's too little. In the end it seemed completely unreal that they would triumph. The only thing that carried the story along is the chemistry of the hero and heroine.

Luca Ambrus is a rare breed: vampire from birth, begotten by vampire parents, blood born. He is also an agent of the Council - the centuries-old cabal that governs vampirekind, preserving their secrecy and destroying those who betray them.

    "Good book! terrible audio quality"
    Overall

I've read this book before and years ago listened to it on tape... this seems to be just taken from a bad tape.. it's horrible in it's quality. This is a good book, good narrator and horrible transfer of format. Big waste of money!

    Overall

I've read the book months ago. After reading I was prepared.. but I needed something to listen to and love the series.. so I purchased this audio... I have to agree with just about everyone who said the narration was awful. It's a great book and having read it and knowing what's supposed to be expressed helped, but for those that have just listened to this you would get a completely different outlook on characters. Great book for the series.. not a recommendation for audio. After Holter Graham, not many narrators would sound right, but this narrator sucked.. Expressions wrong, pronouncing off, and just not a great voice.

He has stolen her past, but MacKayla will never allow her sister's murderer to take her future. Yet even the uniquely gifted sidhe-seer is no match for the Lord Master, who has unleashed an insatiable sexual craving that consumes Mac's every thought - and thrusts her into the seductive realm of two very dangerous men, both of whom she desires but dares not trust.

    Overall

I was really into the book.. and then it just ends.. I went back and listened to the last chapter 4 times cause I was lost at the abrupt end. I guess it wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to wait a whole year for the next book. Things finally start coming together and this book flowed better then the other in the series. I'm hooked but not happy.
