The murder of Paul Wheeler has all the elements of a blockbuster: family rivalries, incalculable wealth, and a prominent man dying in the arms of his beautiful mistress. It's a case that could earn Derek Mitchell even greater star power. When the Wheeler family approaches him about defending Creighton for his uncle's murder -- even before he's charged -- he jumps at the chance.

Scott says: "Bad Guy With Interesting Hobby"
    "Suspense at it's finest"

On one hand I wanted to hear the end to see "who really done it." Truthhfully though, I did not want it to end. The story captured my interest so much I was listening to this audiobook in my car, at the gym, in my home, etc. This is Sandra Brown at her best.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

A heart warming true story with many lessons woven in. It's well told and well read. I could listen several times and even bought 2 hard copies to give to friends.

What was one of the most memorable moments of An Invisible Thread?

The parallels of the two lives were so evident as the story progressed.

Have you listened to any of Pam Ward’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    The epilogue.

    Any additional comments?

A must have for any age.

Ken Follett's World Without End was a global phenomenon, a work of grand historical sweep beloved by millions of readers and acclaimed by critics. Fall of Giants is his magnificent new historical epic. The first novel in The Century Trilogy, it follows the fates of five interrelated families - American, German, Russian, English, and Welsh - as they move through the world-shaking dramas of the First World War, the Russian Revolution, and the struggle for women's suffrage.

Louis says: "Loved it and learned alot."
    "Recommend to everyone"
    Overall

This was a fabulous book. Some of my friends were not too keen on the printed version, but the audio version really makes the words come alive. I listened every spare moment I could get. I can hardly wait for the next one.

  • Port Mortuary: A Scarpetta Novel

In this fast-paced story, a treacherous path from Scarpetta's past merges with the high tech highway she now finds herself on. We travel back to the beginning of her professional career, when she enlisted in the Air Force to pay off her medical school debt and found herself ensnared in a gruesome case of what seemed to be vicious, racially motivated hate crimes against two Americans in South Africa.

    Terry says: "once again angry"
    "swimming in molasses"
    Overall

By book 2 I listened only because I paid for it. It is filled with grinding technical terms and tedious repitition. Scarpetta needs to retire.

  • U Is for Undertow: A Kinsey Millhone Mystery

    • UNABRIDGED (14 hrs and 5 mins)

It's April, 1988, a month before Kinsey Millhone's 38th birthday, and she's alone in her office doing paperwork when a young man arrives unannounced. He has a preppy air about him and looks as if he'd be carded if he tried to buy booze, but Michael Sutton is 27, an unemployed college dropout. Twenty-one years earlier, a four-year-old girl disappeared, and a recent reference to her kidnapping has triggered a flood of memories.

BSquared67 says: "A brilliant departure from the familiar"
    "Too long awaiting another winner"
    Overall

This is another wonderfully written story narrated by the superb Judy Kaye.

I can only wish that Sue Grafton would release more sooner, but perhaps that would only deminish her absolutely spectacular story telling.

There are many surprises here in store for the listener (reader). Thank you Sue for another jewel.

  • Kindred in Death: In Death, Book 29

In this novel from number-one New York Times-best-selling author J. D. Robb, the newly promoted captain of the NYPSD and his wife return a day early from their vacation, looking forward to spending time with their bright and vivacious 16-year-old daughter, who stayed behind. Not even their worst nightmares could have prepared them for the crime scene that awaits them inside.

Mary A. Wieben says: "Love the series but..."
    "Abridged would be better"
    Overall

This was my first J.D. Robb audiobook. The storyline was good, but the unabridged version was too drawn out and repetitive. It took half the story to capture my attention, but the last half was OK. I think I'll go to the library before spending more money on this author.
