All of the chapter and verse numbers were narrated along with the text. There are two significant problems with this, it could have been half the length and it was extremely distracting. Every other sentence was, "1 Nephi 8:10", etc. for about 30 hours. I understand that some people like to quote chapter and verse but is an audiobook the place for that? Personally, I think not.

The text is enriching and brought me to a closer understanding of my own faith. The narrator was very good too except that the producers made him read all of the chapter and verse numbers.

I would never have read the book. So I guess Sean made that possible.

For the love of God, make a new recording without the chapter and verse numbers, please.

James Joyce and his contemporaries changed the face of Literature. Ulysses is obviously an amazing achievement. This said, the monsterous thing is barely comprehensible to read.

The producers of this audiobook have done everything in their power to make Ulysses intelligible. It is an absolutely brilliant production. Jim Norton might just be a genius.

If you like strangeness and mental puzzles or if you are a Literature scholar this is the book for you. I guess I should give Joyce's story five stars but the only thing that made it entertaing for me was the stunning narration and I personally rate stories on their entertainment value.

I understand why 1984 matters. If we allow ourselves to be controlled blindly by a system of authority and cease to think for ourselves, we lose our sense of self and lose our free will. I get it but, honestly, I just don't like such sad stories unless they have a few "grave diggers" in them and this one sure doesn't. Listen anyway because it's a classic.

It's not a bad book but I definitely wasn't enthralled like I thought I would be and I am pretty easily enthralled. The performance was well done.

The topic was interesting, well written and well read but I was expecting a reading of Gnostic Scriptures and that I did not get.

I'm not going to tell you that it is the most entertaing audiobook I've listened to but it has had the biggest impact on me.

The gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

I would never have read it without a narrator, so, he made it so I could. He was really good too.

Some chunks of the old testament are unbelievably dull but keep going it's worth it.

It helped me understand my own religion better.

I didn't really like it, per se but it wasn't horrible. It was a bit slow and some continuous bad pronunciation. How do you pronounce scourge?

It made me realize why I could never be Muslim, no disrespect to those that are but many parts of the text describe the exact opposite of my own beliefs. However, it is a must read for anyone interested in religions and I would think, every Muslim.
