The story is about an old theme of his in a new coat.
Not his follow up from this series.
So, so. Little bit dull.
No. It will be much of the same.
No. I'm half way and sit it out but never again.
I'm hoping it will get better but up till now it is a drag. Over sentimental and nothing really happens.
Not too bad but there are better narrators.
My husband read it and told me about it. So I got interested, also because it was a nr one on the bestsellers list here in Holland. But I'm disappointed. I'm afraid it was a waist of time, so far. I still hope it will get better, but I'm afraid it won't.
Caring, Intelligent, History
I can't remember any other book at its sort.
Very well done, although he is a fast narrator. Sometimes he speaks too quick.
No. I did it in parts because there is so much to listen to. In fact it's three stories in one book.First the search of the netsukes, then the whole of the family history and then the way Edmund de Waal did his research.
I was so lucky to have seen him in person giving his talk about the book. And then I was so impressed that I bought the book for my husband and I searched for this audible book. And I was lucky to find it.There will be a time that I will read it agian because reading with your ears is quite different than with your eyes. Can't wait to see the film.
Not for Tom Wolfe but maybe one where Lou Diamond Philips is the narrator
I'm afraid not.
Yes, that was good enough.
Maybe the melting pot in Miami.
No not realy. I just didn't like it and throwed it away when I was half way.
In a sort of a middle class.
In this book I have no high lights or low lights.
I haven't got one
I bought this book because I had read 'the Forgotten Garden'. But the house at Riverton is not as good. Not by a longshot. After reading another book I had forgotten what it was all about while I could remember almost everything from the Forgotten garden.I must say that the narrator was excellent.
It depends on who I will recommend it to. But in general, Yes.
No I didn't. But she is a very skilful narrator. I loved her rather decent Aussie accent.
The Hidden Garden.
I thought it was a well written, romantic and mysterius story. During the story I thought how it would end but Mrs Morton was able to delay my thoughts almost un till the end. I liked it very much and have now ordered the House of Riverton.
No, not really. I admire the currage of the writer to write such a story in that time frame but it would have been better to publish it on audible in an abriged version. The whole story endlessly dragged on.
The mail narrator was rather ok but the woman I didn't like.
No. But if you find the best scenario writer maybe.
Yes, it's an intreging story written with humor.
You think you know what it is all about, just for a moment but then you're wrong, as usual.
The first time I listened I didn't like it very much so I left it.Then I thought I try again but the second time was just the same.
I've seen the movie and was entchanted. It's a pity to say but the narrater of this book spoiled the whole story. So in this case the movie was better than the book. I have to try again with another narrator.
