Didn't always like reading, minus RL Stine and Comic books. Then I found myself getting a BA in English Literature at UC Berkeley. During that time, I found it hard to read for fun so I started listen to audio books. I dig... The Classics (especially ancient lit) Tolkien Palahniuk AC Doyle Some Sci-Fy

Paradise Lost, along with its companion piece, Paradise Regained, remain the most successful attempts at Greco-Roman style epic poetry in the English language. Remarkably enough, they were written near the end of John Milton's amazing life, a bold testimonial to his mental powers in old age. And, since he had gone completely blind in 1652, 15 years prior to Paradise Lost, he dictated it and all his other works to his daughter.

Would you consider the audio edition of Paradise Lost & Paradise Regained to be better than the print version?

No, this sort of thing is meant to be read. However, this is an excellent reading of the text.

What does Charlton Griffin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Charlton Griffin is the BOSS. In the field of voice acting he is on par with Morgan Freeman and the like.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Super Mario?

The description of the court battle between Universal and Nintendo over the supposed trademark infringement of Universal's King Kong, by Nintendo's breakout hit Donkey Kong.

What does Ray Porter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Surprised by Porter's deliver. Never heard him before, but he comes right off the page and brings the text to life.

At once a Gothic thriller, a passionate romance, and a cautionary tale about the dangers of science, Frankenstein tells the story of committed science student Victor Frankenstein. Obsessed with discovering "the cause of generation and life" and "bestowing animation upon lifeless matter", Frankenstein assembles a human being from stolen body parts. However, upon bringing it to life, he recoils in horror at the creature's hideousness.

Would you try another book from Mary Shelley and/or Simon Vance?

    Not from Simon Vance

How did the narrator detract from the book?

His diction didn't vary much. The quality of the recording was lacking.

    Any additional comments?

I love this book, but I could not get into this reading of it. Vance's delivery put me to sleep more than it drew me in. His tonality is soft and he doesn't change pitch or act much out. I really feel like its an overall fail of a great piece of literature.

  • The Complete Stories of Sherlock Holmes, Volume 2

Volume two in this series consists of one novel, The Hound of the Baskervilles, and two collections of short stories, which include "Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes" and "The Return of Sherlock Holmes" (a total of 23 stories). These creations by Doyle represent the finest work of his Holmes series, and certainly the most famous.

If you could sum up The Complete Stories of Sherlock Holmes, Volume 2 in three words, what would they be?

    Intriguing smooth talker

What does Charlton Griffin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Great voice; when I think Sherlock I hear Charlton Griffin.

    Any additional comments?

As a fan of the Law and Order, I feel like this is OG for the 1890s. Formulaic? Yes. Enjoyable? Immensely! Worth getting without a doubt.
