Something like 108 billion people have lived on our planet during its history, and despite all of the experiences in all of the lifetimes of all of those people, we have still not found a way to exist together in peace and harmony, much less create individual lives with a powerfully glorious, intrinsic meaning and a wonderfully joyful purpose. Life has such a meaning and purpose, but across thousands of years only a very small number of human beings seem to have really understood it. Until now. Now, everyone seems to be "getting it" all at once - and agreeing with one another, at last, that it truly is...The Only Thing That Matters.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, but first I would say they should read "Conversations with God", then I think they will understand this book better.

Would you be willing to try another book from Neale Donald Walsch? Why or why not?

Yes, I always take something away that helps me.

Have you listened to any of Neale Donald Walsch’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, most of them. I find it is easier to read them than to listen, especially because I am usually driving.
I wanted to race ahead, because it seemed that he took along time to get to the point. In a way this turned out to be a good thing. I realized I needed to hear everything to fully understand what he wanted me (us) to learn.
I listened to his first book on tape with Ellen Burstyn & Ed Asner and they were terrific !
    An easier listen.

What insight do you think you’ll apply from The Only Thing That Matters?

How the soul, mind & body are integrated, and how they work together. Why gratitude is an important part of enriching our life.

    Any additional comments?

If you are searching for the meaning of why you are here, this can help you get a glimmer, maybe even get you to recognize what your path is.

History has all but forgotten.... In the spring of 1708, an invading Jacobite fleet of French and Scottish soldiers nearly succeeded in landing the exiled James Stewart in Scotland to reclaim his crown. Now, Carrie McClelland hopes to turn that story into her next best-selling novel. Settling herself in the shadow of Slains Castle, she creates a heroine named for one of her own ancestors and starts to write. But then she discovers her novel is more fact than fiction....

What made the experience of listening to The Winter Sea the most enjoyable?

I enjoyed going back and forth in time. The author did a great job making the transitions easy to follow. All the main characters were interesting and easy to like.

The narrator was great. I thought that she made the story come alive and did not over act or go too fast. She was skillful in her inflections of the different voices and I was comfortable with her pace as she sucked me into the story's rhythm.

    Any additional comments?

There was history, suspense and a bit of romance . It was a great listen.
The story was not so complicated that is was hard to follow, but interesting because of the two stories one in the present and one of the past. The author did a wonderful job tying them together.

It’s the early 1980s—the country is in a deep recession, and life after college is harder than ever. In the cafés on College Hill, the wised-up kids are inhaling Derrida and listening to Talking Heads. But Madeleine Hanna, dutiful English major, is writing her senior thesis on Jane Austen and George Eliot, purveyors of the marriage plot that lies at the heart of the greatest English novels.

What did you love best about The Marriage Plot?

The story and characters were wonderfully drawn. This book grabbed me from the beginning. A modern twist on an old theme, quirky contemporary love relationships.
You could see where the story was going but the characters where so compelling I loved listening. The narrator was perfect in the voices, the inflection and the timing.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Marriage Plot?

All of it was good. I even loved the descriptions of the places that the characters traveled to.

What does David Pittu bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His voice for Madelines mother was just so perfect. It conveyed her attitude and demeanor that I don't think I would have gotten just reading from the book.

If you could rename The Marriage Plot, what would you call it?

    ???

    Any additional comments?

This is not a book I would normally choose. My daughter highly recommended it,so I decided to listen just to see what she likes. It surprised me how much I liked it. I usually like mysteries and suspense or historical romance.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

It is a typical "Highlander Romance", a subject I enjoy. So if you like historical romance with a good story it's a good bet you will like this book. The only thing I don't love about the romance genre on tape are the sex scenes, it often times sounds ridiculous. This wasn't so bad as some others I've listened to however.

Would you recommend In Bed with a Highlander to your friends? Why or why not?

    Only if they like romance.

What aspect of Kirsten Potter’s performance would you have changed?

I thought she did a great job with her voice and the different characters.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

Two narrators one for the female and one for the male voices.

    Any additional comments?

I purchased all three of the books in this series when Audible had a sale so I only paid
$4.95 for each. It may be why I liked the books, they were a good listen at a great price.

But now he's wide awake, and a citified woman is glaring down at him. His goal? Get rid of her ASAP. The obstacle? Fighting the attraction he feels toward the blond-haired filly with the big, vulnerable eyes. When out-of-work wedding planner Mariah Callahan learns that her estranged father has left her a rundown ranch in Jubilee, she has no choice but to accept it.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

The story was not bad but I just did not like the narrators voice. She sounded like an old woman. Her voice was not bad it just didn't fit with the story.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I love romance and non fiction self improvement books. It depends on my mood. I usually
listen to more than one book at a time, a non fiction and a fiction.

How could the performance have been better?

    Different narrator.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Cowboy Takes a Bride?

The characters were good but the story was just so so. The author could have made better dialog. That for me was main the weakness with this book.

In Decisive, the Heaths, based on an exhaustive study of the decision-making literature, introduce a four-step process designed to counteract these biases. Where does Decisive rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I always like to listen to new ways of looking & solving problems. I really felt I got my credits worth with this book. I even bought the hardcover because I wanted to look up some of the suggestions and references. It is a book I will keep on my desk.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Decisive?

I really liked the stories told about Franklin and the corporate stories. They made their case for their decision making process. I am not in corporate or social science business, but I know this will help me in my personal life as well as business.

What about Kaleo Griffith’s performance did you like?

I liked his voice for this book. It was easy to listen to. Very smooth. I am glad he didn't rush or go fast because there are many points that need to "sink-in". I would listen to a book narrated by K. Griffith again

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

All the stories were so interesting and the fact that they are true just made it better.

    Any additional comments?

Anyone wanting a "leg up" in business and the decision making process needs and should read this book. Now I want to listen to their other 2 books.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Very easy listen. I think you call it a "Beach Read"

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

I enjoyed the main characters. I like a strong female and a strong male. It makes for great
story telling. I like the flashing between the soap opera scenes and the regular story. I liked the chemistry between the two, but sometimes the story was even to corny for me.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Did not love narrator, but at least she was not irritating, her voices grew on me.

    Any additional comments?

It was a nice story and I liked the little added mystery to the mix. I liked the characters more than the story. I drive back and forth from SF to LA and it was a perfect easy listen. It was just a bit better than OK. I would recommend it to romance readers who like a bit of sex thrown in but doesn't overwhelm the story.

If you are looking for a fun light read, you will like this. I love the time period and I love the narrator Davina Porter. She adds so much to the characters and is so versatile with her voice. The story itself is so so, but I really liked the characters.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Secret Countess?

    Which scene was your favorite?

The beginning where it was made clear how much her father loved his children. I love good parents...

Not really, it was a pleasant read, predictable happy ending. Just what I was looking for.

The amazing resilience of Lady Jane. She was wise beyond her years.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Innocent Traitor?

When Lady Jane is crowned as queen and she finally finds her voice

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Wonderful narrators. I was familiar with Davina Porter from "The Outlander " series, and was one of the reasons I chose this book. They were all perfect. The narrators really brought the story to life. I will look for these narrators when choosing future books.

If you could take any character from Innocent Traitor out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Her mother! She is really a complicated woman.

    Any additional comments?

This is a really sad story. I listened to "The Virgin Queen" and "The Boleyn Inheiritance" and loved those stories. I chose this book because Allison Weir is known as a true historian and I thought she would write a book that was a more realistic history. She did and I think I like the fantasy of P. Gregory better. ;)
