I was very excited to buy the new John Grisham novel. I loved his earlier legal thrillers and coming back to this familiar reader/narrator is like visiting an old friend.
I still enjoyed the flow of Grisham's writing in spite of what seemed to be a liberal bias and some of the characters coming off more as caricatures than real people.
What really threw me, though, was the way this book ended...well, sort of ended. I found myself shouting aloud, "No! This can't possibly be the end of the book! Are you kidding me?" It was so depressing and lacked real closure.
I am so disappointed. Mr. Grisham, perhaps in later copies you can add an epilogue that contains a REAL ending.
I absolutely loved this book. It was so well written and suspenseful. The end was a complete surprise and the epilogue pulled together everything I wanted to know about the characters.
I hope this author writes another book soon. I'll be first in line to purchase it!
Oh, and the reader was excellent, too.
