I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was thrilling and gripping and kept me captivated for the full length of the story. robert Glenister narrates beautifuly and his tones, accents and portrayal of women's voices was very good.
The overall story was exciting and plausible and was a really good detective story.
Worth the read!
This is a sweet gentle story of a country girl that finds herself in a big city and makes a life for herself in restoring antique furniture..
It was an undulating gentle and calm story. A book that wont keep you sitting gripping the edges of your chair, but will keep you captivated wit its gentle twists and turns filled with real people.. I wasn't dissapointed! Jenna lamia as the narrator did the story proud with her beautiful expressive narration.
A penny horrible of note! Full of awful cliches...
Don't waste your time - unless you enjoy trashy reads...
Oh my word, I so enjoyed this book! I gobbled it up and wanted more... and then last nut not least there were little snippets of Keith himself narrating.... Wow!
brilliant and practical hints and tips to organise your life.. and to unclutter the clutter.
I listen in stages between other books and you can also visit the website for more tips..
I cannot fault this book, but I must be honest.. I was a little bored. maybe I've had too much of Kay Scarpetta.. blah, blah, blah..... I didn't finish it, but probably will go back t it once i'm over my boredom. If you are an avid Scarpetta fan, then by all means read this one!
I could not get into this book.. It sounds like an old maid reading it and I just lose the storyline as she drones on and on and on and oooonnnnnn..................
Don't waste your money!
oh my goodness...... I tried to listen to this book 3 times and restarted and restarted.... then I gave up! What a boring disjointed story... don't bother!
A perfect love story, with the perfect mix of love, lust, raw anger, raw hurt and rejection.. Then to top it all, they fall in love, have a wonderful life in the mountains surrounded by horses, dogs, nature and children.... At the same time it is steamy and just YUMMY!!!
harold is a retired older gentleman, with a colourless life, with a nagging miserable marriage, unfulfilled in all areas... love, laughter, joy, excitement and he exists from day to day... Until he receives "the letter"... this changes his whole life. It has a cataclysmic impact on his life, his marriage, his friends and the spillover of people on his peripheral edges.
Its a story of hope, that allows you to be drawn into believing and realising that it is never too late for change and that we should never give up.
It leaves you feeling hopeful and reflective....
As an avid Downton Abbey fan... I am avidly awaiting the new series in January, I really enjoyed this book. Its a story about three women living in a posh apartment building and each come from different backgrounds, with different circumstances and are brought together every Sunday evening in the rec room to watch the Downton Abbey series. On the surface they have a facade of normality, but each one is struggling with their own problems.
This was a "real" life story, making the characters so real with every day issues about family, finances, love and sadness...
I was sorry when it ended and it could end up with a sequel... let's watch this space..
