One of those books which you read and forget... In fact I had to read the preview again to remember the storyline. But a good light read, nothing too eciting, but enjoyable.
I have never read a Jojo Moyes book before, I'm not sure why, but I suppose I haven't stumbled across one.. But now I have.. I will read more of her books. This was one of the most delightful books that I have read in a long time.
The fact that the narration was done from 4 different character's perspectives and drew the story into real life. The narrators were believable, not forced and honestly good.
I loved Jess, Ed, Nicky and Tansy.. They were all delightfully real, with their own flaws that related a story of tanacity, never gicing up and looking at the positive.
And of course there was Norman, I'm a complete sucker for a dog in a story.. And this is a DOG.. a big, black, hairy, floppy, drooling, disobedieent dog.
have a listen.. you wont waste yor money... ENJOY!!
I didn't finish this book, even though I tried a dozen times. The narrator is far too old to be depicting a young woman who is going through a divorce. Her voice is gravely like she has smoked 40 fags a day for 40 years.. I just couldn't get into this very boring book!
I would listen again.. it was a beautiful story
The Housemaid's Daughter, 12 Years a slave. The book leads us on a tale of slavery and "below stairs" that is overlooked.
The two different stories of the "above stairs" and "below stairs". The different perspectives that each young woman has on life.
It had a languid poignancy to it that led you into a well woven story.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. IT was well written and very well narrated.. Makes me want to quilt a story of my own..
I'm not a twice listening person, but if I didn't have anything else to read I would.
I loved all the characters.. Nora blrought them to life with their personalities
As said, I enjoyed all of them.
I travel a lot, so I never get to listen all at once. But I certainly looked forward to alone travel time to switch on and listen.
This was one of Nora Roberts' best books I've read to date.
You wont be dissapointed.
I love Nicholas Sparks' books... So I'm always biased when rating. I must say I have a little trouble with male narrators. The story was great but towards the end it went a little flat..
Not the best Nicholas Sparks. I enjoyed The Long Ride much better than this book.
I laughed out loud listeing to this book. it was quirky, funny, good narration and I just love the way the main character bounces back in a kick ass way. I love old houses, house renovations, home decor, cooking and more and also with a good romance thrown into the mix! Oh and did I mention the little dog.. I love romance, animals, food, home decor.. This book had it all.
A young pious school girl getss sucked into the religious world of greed, zealousness and money.. Principia is innocent and remains so throughout the book. This was interesting and I enjoyed each character. It was well written and well narrated.
This was a beautful book, well written and narrated. It flowed well and I enjoyed the story so much I didn't want it to end. Its about a spoilt young woman with the no worries in the world who has everything she wants and needs and her world comes crashing down. She is a dancer who sustains an injury and her career comes to a sharp end, her boyfirend iis cheating on her and her comfortable affluent world crashes. She takes a sabatical to her family home and her life changes...
This story started off a bit on the dreary side and then whipped into an unexpected turn.
Its written well wth crafty twists and turns that show how humans will do anything to survive, to keep their worlds in tact, to protect their marriages and children. Overall a good rating from me!
I'm a sucker for animal stories and I think the Lab on the cover of this book probably sold it to me before I read the review.
This is a story of loss and heartbreak that adds dogs, pets, family and friends to help heal the loss of a loved one.
Overall I enjoyed this book, but I did struggle with the Jilly Bond's narration. Jilly sounds sixtyish and her voice is a little too mature for the main character and her male voices sound like Yogi Bear's voice. So this was a little distracting at times.
But if your'e looking for a feel good story, with a little laugh and a bit of a weep.. you wont waste your money!
