I love Nora Roberts writing and this book was her usual good production. A bit like having a meal at a restaurant and when someone asks you a week later what it was like and you honestly can't remember.. It wasn't bad, it wasn't fantastic, it was acceptably ok.
It was raunchy, hilarious, true to life and a good light hearted listen.
I just loved Drew, Carter, Liz, Claire, Jenny, Jim the Dad George and that little terror Gavin.
I found her voice to be a bit gravelly, with an older sound to it and she isn't too good at character differentiation.. sometimes I got a bit lost and played cathc up on who was speaking..
Oh I would take that Dad George.. hmmm.... ( ok, so I'm his age) what can I say.. ex Nam, Built like a brick sh@t house.. OMG..
This was a really good listen, very true to life, quite raunchy and yes we all have wandering minds when we have sex.. Does my tummy look flat enough? Hope I don't fart.. I shouldn't have eatn all of those dried prunes.. lol!
I haven't read the hard copy
I wouldn't want to spoil the story, but it was so poignant with deep love..
All the characters were special.. The deep love of the old and the new fresh love of the young
It made me think of my own marriage.. 30 years long, I could feel myself relating to the old man.. that deep love...
I love Nicholas Sparks, the way he writes love stories.. he just gets it! You wont be dissapointed with this beautiful double story that collides into an amazing dance..
I enjoy her books and the narration.
Not sure.. Torey's books are non fiction, so they are her stories..
Good narration and character reading
No, but I enjoy the fact that children are helped.
It was obscure and almost a fantasy bordering on a Narnia type scenario. I'm quite indifferent.. liked it, didn't like it..
If you are looking for fiction no.. if you think that it's the usual Torey hayden.. no..
yes, her nattation is good. But she does muddle male and female characters at times.
If you have the time.. yes... but really no..
A bland read.. I'm no sure Torey herself knew what to expect while writing it.
It took me a few chapters to get into this book. When I started listening I thought I had bought a romantic novel with a sicky love story.. Girl meets boy, blah, blah, blah.. I nearly stopped listening, but pushed on because I was on a road trip. Well, what can I say! It turned out to be fantastic.. So push through and enjoy!!!
This is a sweet gentle story of a country girl that finds herself in a big city and makes a life for herself in restoring antique furniture..
It was an undulating gentle and calm story. A book that wont keep you sitting gripping the edges of your chair, but will keep you captivated wit its gentle twists and turns filled with real people.. I wasn't dissapointed! Jenna lamia as the narrator did the story proud with her beautiful expressive narration.
A penny horrible of note! Full of awful cliches...
Don't waste your time - unless you enjoy trashy reads...
Oh my word, I so enjoyed this book! I gobbled it up and wanted more... and then last nut not least there were little snippets of Keith himself narrating.... Wow!
brilliant and practical hints and tips to organise your life.. and to unclutter the clutter.
I listen in stages between other books and you can also visit the website for more tips..
I cannot fault this book, but I must be honest.. I was a little bored. maybe I've had too much of Kay Scarpetta.. blah, blah, blah..... I didn't finish it, but probably will go back t it once i'm over my boredom. If you are an avid Scarpetta fan, then by all means read this one!
