Seeking to find a new life for themselves, Cole and comrades remake the Teddy R. as a pirate ship and set sail for the lawless Inner Frontier. There, powerful warlords, cut-throat pirates, and struggling colonies compete for survival in a game where you rarely get a second chance to learn the rules. But military discipline is poor preparation for a life of pillaging and plundering.

Book 2 is worth taking a chance on if you had read Book 1 and thought it was a slow start.
It was. But Pirate picks up the pace and adds some interesting characters. The Narrator, Jonathan Davis, does an excellent job of allowing your imagination to believe you are listening to the different voices of all these characters.Forget the "he said, she said" complaint of a previous review, you'll be too engrossed with the action.

When a vampire serial killer sends Anita Blake a grisly souvenir from Las Vegas, she has to warn Sin City's local authorities what they're dealing with. Only it's worse than she thought. Ten officers and one executioner have been slain - paranormal style. Anita heads to Vegas, where's she's joined by three other federal marshals, including the ruthless Edward. It's a good thing he always has her back, because when she gets close to the bodies, Anita senses "tiger" too strongly to ignore it.

    Evelyn says: "Finally, Anita's back!"
    "Do not waste your credit!"

I know, everyone else thinks it's good.....they moved on and are not here to defend their twisted position. You will not enjoy this novel and unless you are into lotsa blabber about nothing and a whole bunch of wothless sexual enferences
about vampires and their lackees....leave it alone. There are too many other good things to select. If you decide to buy it...I told you so.
