"Monster Hunting for Fun & Profit!"
I really enjoyed this series (and so did my husband). We would plug in my IPhone and listen to it together out on our boat. Was fun & narrated VERY WELL. In fact, don't think the series would have been what it was without him. He didn't do anything 'fancy.' Didn't even change his tone when switching characters but it WORKED.
Definately recommend it!
Light-hearted and fun
Deadpan sense of humor maybe? Hard to pin but he DID make the story!
Yes
Listen to them all
"One of my ALLTIME FAVORITE BOOKS!"
Yes, absolutely. Stephen King just made this book so REAL... You could just picture it all in your mind and to me that is a very successful novel and audiobook. Just LOVED it and have listened to it several times. Never gets old for me!
There are a couple of books I have listened to that have come AFTER The Stand but none of them really compare. The Passage was interesting on it's own and Ten Seconds After (I think that was the name).
It's been a while since I've listened so I can't pick one out fairly. They were all so good! I liked Mother Abigail of course
Impossible to do so (it's like a million hours long) but I would have if I could have
Download it NOW. It's a timeless classic!
"Just Okay"
Have a big difference of opinion on this one. My husband enjoyed it while I did not. I do have to commend Mr. Andrews for his pronunciations and alien 'speak.' He pronounced some very difficult names with ease. The constant 'spitting' (and maybe he HAD to do this to pronounce them) was annoying to me...
I did like his attemp at trying a novel from a different vantage point. It was just hard for me to keep up with the difficult names with the weird inflections....
Yes, I would give him another try
I didn't make it to the end-sorry
Engaging
Possibly. I did like the different 'take' of this piece
"Fell Flat for Me"
I have listened to ALL of Ken Follett's books. Pillars and WWE as well as his other, older novels and I just could NOT get into this one. Seemed to go on and on and on and on with nothing that grabbed me.
Of course John Lee did a super job, as always. The story just didn't have any punch. It was like he had a committment to meet and just wrote SOMETHING.
No, no and NO-sorry. Total snoozefest
"One of King's BEST!!!!"
Everything!! Enjoyed the narrator, the storyline-EVERYTHING!! Was sheer genius. When I first read that it was about the Kennedy assasination I started to move on. Didn't see HOW he was going to make it interesting and NEW but he DID. JUST GREAT!!!
Can't think of any that does
When Sadie died (opps sorry people). But then did she come back again??? It is about time travel
Read it
"This book was fun!!"
Lot of fun
Story line was light and easy to follow. You didn't have to work hard to follow along (that probably sounds odd but some books if you don't completely pay attention you get LOST)The best part was it was PURE fantasy and some of it was a bit hokey but that had me laughing. Least interesting was the parts that were supposed to convey 'sexual tension.' That is what had me laughing out loud. Pretty silly but in a fun way
It's been a while (can't remember her name) but it was the lead character.
Not in this book... no
Just enjoy it and don't try to think to hard about it....
"Couldn't stop listening"
This was a mesmerizing audiobook that was completely on point! I found myself ashamed to be white at times.
Kathryn captured the heart, spirit and some of the 'dirty little secret's' of the deep south in the 60's. Hard to believe it wasn't that long ago. Even I can remember the 'white only' drinking fountains and 'colored' bathrooms when we lived in Virginia Beach as a child.
We have come far but still have a ways to go
"The ONLY one in the series that I didn't care for!"
I am a BIG Gabaldon fan and like everyone I was so excited when this book came out. I have listened to them all and the 2 that Audible did not have (the unabridged versions) I went out and bought the books, which I loved as well.
If I was not already familiar with the characters of Claire and Jamie I would have found them very dull in this book. Plot line was dull as well, seemed virtually pointless.
All-in-all it was a big FAT 3 on a scale of 1 to 10 for me...
"Completely ONE dimensional"
Characters were not convincing AT ALL. The author must have read Diane Gabaldon's Outlander series. Should give up without ever writing another one. HORRIBLE!!
"Good Story"
Very raw, realistic account of life (or as it REALLY might have been). Good narration. Definately worth listening to.
