The Colonial Defense Forces usually protect humanity from alien attack, but now the stability of the Colonial Union has been threatened, and Lieutenant Heather Lee and her squad are called to squash a rebellion on a colony world. It seems simple enough - but there's a second act to the rebellion that finds Lee captive, alone, and armed with only her brains to survive.

Leila's years on the carnie circuit were certainly an education. What she didn't learn: how to be a vampire, or how to be married to the most famous vampire of them all. Adjusting to both has Leila teetering on a knife edge between passion and peril, and now the real danger is about to begin...

Centuries ago Acheron saved the human race by imprisoning an ancient evil bent on absolute destruction. Now that evil has been unleashed and it is out for revenge. As the twin to Acheron, Styxx hasn’t always been on his brother's side. They've spent more centuries going at each other's throats than protecting their backs. Now Styxx has a chance to prove his loyalty to his brother, but only if he's willing to trade his life and future for Acheron's.

Styxx Styxx Styxx.. Had no Idea of his side of events when I red the Acheron book... This book is so emotional, when you listen to Styxx's story you will be shocked of how it was and for how long it was like that... Sherrilyn did a good job of hiding his story , I had no idea....

So many events are in this book... and so many after and after-after events.. I can see why its so far down the line in this series, so many things that happened in previous books are included here too.. .And oh dear how many surprises you get here, prepare for them.

Absolutely loved this addition, and finally I'm where everyone else is at in this series, took me a while to get here as I have started this series recently.

Now will wait and see what will come up next.

    Fantastic book!!!!!

Oh how life isn't easy for you mike... really feel bad for you.. Its a good addition to this new series. Liked how the story changes and focuses on different things.. New friends are made, and new enemies as well.... I wonder how things will be like in the future...

Know that Mike is not exactly the same guy as in the zombie series. All those years by himself changed him.... I feel sorry for the guy... wonder what Mark Tufo will do to him next.... And you can't have a Mike related book without laughter, really was funny in some moments.

If you red the first book then go ahead and read this one as well.. don't touch this book if you didn't read the zombie series, you must start with that series first.

Firefight was really really good... I was shocked in how things turned out in this book, I shouldn't have been shocked in the first place as the author is Brandon Sanderson...What an amazing book... There is a new team with interesting members, and lovable ones too.. Prof, Tina, and David join that team to face another epic.. But it wasn't the same way as in the first book... it was different, good different...

You have your funny moments with David when he tries his hardest to come up with metaphors and its really funny when he tries to flirt.

The ending of this book will shock you.. I wasn't expecting this... Come on Brandon, why isn't the next book ready already... Awesome series.

    Go for it!!!!

Thannuel Kerr is handsome, young and brash, fumbling through childhood toward his inevitable inheritance: the next Lord of the Western Province. He struggles to accept his arranged marriage and to grow into the man he must become. The journey toward that end, however, is fraught with more peril than he could possibly imagine. In the remote reaches of the Realm, an unknown, silent threat is growing.

Its all about Thannuel which is much needed.. So many references about the war were in the first book, and when you read this book so many points just click. Loved hearing the childhood and young story of Thannuel and loved how the book ended... It wasn't too long, and it wasn't too short, it was just perfect. What i liked is that it didn't jump into the war, you start with Thannuel at the age of 12 and you see how he grows up.. Really good book.

This series is really good and I do wonder how it will all end . Can't wait for book 2

If you are a fan of Stormlight Archive and Wheel of Time, then you will be a fan of this as well.

Fantastic new series, I had my doubts on how this book will go, but i was pleasantly surprised.. Plot was good, characters were good and well developed... Twists and turns were everywhere and really interesting.. I really wonder how it will go ahead and how this series will sendup like... Jacob Cooper is talented and will be looking forward to reading his future work.

I have really enjoyed all the fights in this book, they are very well written, and this whole world of light and cycles and so on is really original and catching..

Narration is awesome as usual... Michael Kramer is one of my favorite narrators, he is quite talented; Fans of the wheel of times and The Stormlight Archive would know how good and talented he is... Actually, thats how i found this book. I was searching for books narrated by him.

Looking forward to the 2nd book.

What put me off reading this book were the reviews, so many people said it was really bad... But its not.. it was a good book, showing the aftermath of the Aliens attacks... it was slow and some low points ... but it was not a bad book... There are few things here and there that could have been done better...

In my opinion, this series could have been done in a different way and could have been much better.. Am a fan of Mark Tufo, and really a big fan of the zombie fallout series, but wish this series was as good as the zombie one.

I liked this book... There were few points where it was a bit low... but the ending of this book was good, its all a big buildup to the upcoming one... wonder how it will all go ...

To be honest, i like the characters more than the series itself. the zombie fallout series feels much more original than this one. I think more work could have gone into this series to give it more depth i guess... But still its a good series ...

Lets see hows the next book going to be like.
