An earthquake in Masada, Israel, kills hundreds and reveals a tomb buried in the heart of the mountain. A trio of investigators - Sergeant Jordan Stone, a military forensic expert; Father Rhun Korza, a Vatican priest; and Dr. Erin Granger, a brilliant but disillusioned archaeologist - are sent to explore the macabre discovery, a subterranean temple holding the crucified body of a mummified girl. But a brutal attack at the site sets the three on the run, thrusting them into a race to recover what was once preserved in the tomb's sarcophagus: a book rumored to have been written by Christ's own hand....

Crazy plot, crazier villains & absolutely the craziest Joe Ledger for whom this part was made.
Mayberry's books are truly pure entertainment ,especially if you can live in his insane world of wierd people who all seem to want to conquer the world.
Joe Ledger is not a character that will surprise you. He does what he does & after a few books you come to expect this determined, crazy, killer, protector, hero character.
Kudos to Ray Porter for another well portrayed novel.
    Onward & forward Joe Ledger!!

An author whose previous, wildly successful novels have earned him a reputation as fantasy's master of magic, Brandon Sanderson continues to dazzle audiences with this tale of princesses and gods. In this extraordinary world, those who attain glory return as gods. And those who can master the essence known as breath can perform the most wondrous miracles - or unleash the most devastating havoc.

Since you can review the story elsewhere whether this book should be read! The book starts out ok but then becomes a seriously slow paced, boring story. The last half or so . The pace really picks up & we start to see different plot lines coming together. However, what & who the "12th" Imam is or wher he came from & what he is , surely is not reveled. On top of this we have Jesus appearing to some people. Real, figment of their imagination & how this fits with the "12th" Imam will have to wait until the next book. Which I doubt I will read

Spur Award-winner Craig Johnson has garnered critical acclaim for his Walt Longmire mysteries. In this riveting seventh entry, Wyoming’s Absaroka County sheriff, Walt Longmire, is pushed beyond his limits. When three hardened convicts escape FBI custody in a mountain blizzard, an armed psychopath leads them up Big Horn Mountain. As Longmire struggles to track their treacherous ascent, he’ll need all the help he can get from the tribal spirits of the towering summit.

This is not even close to a cowboy sheriff chases an escaped convict. The book gets bogged down much of the time with Longmeire going in & out of consciousness in some kind of Indian vision of life & death. Just not a very exciting or for that matter not a very interesting book. The narrator will always sound like Mitch Rapp

With only hours remaining before the conflict reaches a deadly point of no return, the White House must find a way to shut it down immediately or risk the likelihood of a new global war. A radical cleric has become the democratically elected president of Pakistan and uses a brutal incident in the Kashmir region as an opportunity to ignite war with India. The highly lethal conventional war spins out of control when Pakistan initiates a nuclear attack.

What did you like best about this story?

Dewey Andreas is the absolute best character in this genre!
There is lots of action, twists & turns & some unexpected events
Dewey is once again rugged, ruthless, determined & a killer if need be.
He is ruthlessly pursued by his old enemy but ultimately turns the tables.
Don't have to think much with this book . Just sit back ,listen & enjoy.

What about David de Vries’s performance did you like?

Another excellent performance with one exception. Dewey's girlfriend & now the National Security Advisor has lost her slight Irish Accent which I missed

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Buy this book. You will be entertained!

There was one factor that the terrorists didn’t take into account when they struck the Capitana oil platform off the coast of Colombia - slaughtering much of the crew and blowing up the platform - and that was the Capitana crew chief, Dewey Andreas. Dewey, former Army Ranger and Delta, survives the attack, rescuing as many of his men as possible. But the battle has just begun....

Would you consider the audio edition of Power Down to be better than the print version?

    Probably

Who was your favorite character and why?

Dewey because he is the focused character. He is true blooded American, ask no questions. Enemies of America deserve what they get & what he can give them. Which most of the time is fatal

What about Peter Hermann’s performance did you like?

His characters are clear. He is into the story & sucks you right in too

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    Enemies of America beware

    Any additional comments?

This is a terrific book, very well preformed. We have a secret terroristvg group, devastating attacks on America, high level moles, tons of action which is fast paced & a new American hero

    Any additional comments?

This is a very long story & very emotional. Most of it is sad. Always. Looking for the girl, finding her but the relationship never comes to fruition. A boy introduced to tragedy when his family & troupe are all murdered. He goes on for many years living in the streets then finds his way to the university, the Arcanam. This is where the adventure takes its many twists & turns for this very talented young man who will grow up to become a legend
Never super exciting but always interesting read by a master. This is a really good listen & the next book should get to some of the answers we are teased about & will be looking for as the legend is about to grow
