  • The Girl Who Chased the Moon

In her latest enchanting novel, New York Times best-selling author Sarah Addison Allen invites you to a quirky little Southern town with more magic than a full Carolina moon. Here two very different women discover how to find their place in the world - no matter how out of place they feel.

    Anna says: "Lovely"
    "A little magic"
    Overall

The Girl Who Chased the Moon is full of little mysteries and unusual characters which make you wish the world Allen's created in Mulaby, NC could go on and on. Allen must know what I've known since I was eleven, that small Southern towns simply have a bit of magic here and there.

  • Memory: A Miles Vorkosigan Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (14 hrs and 31 mins)
    • By Lois McMaster Bujold
    • Narrated By Grover Gardner
    Overall
    (1096)
    Performance

    Story
    (518)

Dying is easy. Coming back to life is hard. Miles Vorkosigan should know - having done both once already. Thanks to his quick-thinking staff and the artistry of a medical specialist, Miles' first death wasn't his last. But it does take some recovery, a fact he has been reluctant to admit. When he makes the mistake of returning too soon to duty, he finds himself summoned to face the security chief, Simon Illyan. But Miles' worst nightmares about Illyan are nothing compared to Illyan's own nightmares.

    Louis says: "Order of series"
"Best series I've read in years"
    Overall

After a unexpected and crushing blow to his career, Miles sinks into a long but thoughtful depressive period which is a little slow, though still interesting to read. However, seeing "Auditor Miles" at work later more than makes up any lack of space battles. Miles crazed and entertaining maneuvers still keep you on the edge of your seat crying, "Go Miles!" The scenes between Illyan and Miles were gut-wrenching and absorbing. Must read for Miles fans.

  • Winterfair Gifts: A Vorkosigan Adventure

    • UNABRIDGED (2 hrs and 31 mins)

In the festive season of Winterfair on the planet Barrayar, Lord Miles Vorkosigan is making elaborate preparations for his wedding. The long-awaited event stirs up romance and intrigue among his eccentric family and friends, particularly for bioengineered space mercenary Sergeant Taura and shy, diffident Armsman Roic.

    Amazon Customer says: "Really Enjoyed"
    "A treat for fans"
    Overall

I was thrilled to see Taura play a starring role in this story, as well to have a glimpse of Miles and Ekaterin's wedding. My only regret is that I have only one book left before I'm at an end to this excellent series. I'll just have to start at the beginning and listen to them all again. More Miles!

  • Ethan of Athos

    • UNABRIDGED (6 hrs and 59 mins)
    • By Lois McMaster Bujold
    • Narrated By Grover Gardner
    Overall
    (704)
    Performance
    (417)
    Story
    (417)

With the future of Athos at stake, Ethan is chosen on behalf of his cloistered fellows for a unique mission: to brave the wider universe in quest of new ovarian tissue cultures to replenish Athos' dwindling stocks. Along the way, he must tangle with covert operatives, killers, telepathy, interplanetary politics, and - perhaps most disturbingly - an indomitable female mercenary named Elli Quinn.

David says: "Miles-less but still wonderful"
    "Nice surprise!"
    Overall

What a pleasant surprise this book was. I now wish I'd read it in order (before Brothers in Arms), but at the time I wasn't sure whether I'd enjoy it or not since it didn't have Miles or any of the 'usual' characters involved. I liked Ethan and all the rest and found myself wishing the book were longer.
